I see on the LSE board they are trying to start rumours about PMg getting involved, I did touch on this a long time ago because if our involvement with the licenses we ought for £1. But I think the rise PMg are now on is to do with Faroe Petroleum not Cluff! Just my opinion, as Dana sold their entire holding in Faroe it's looking like they will get taken out and PMg hold a few shares in it! Time will tell!

If Richard Branson was to die tomorrow it would make no difference to the running of the company! If Cluff pops his clogs then it would make no difference either, so pointless chat! Best example is Apple Steve Jobs! Did Apple crumble? Pardon the pun!

AIM generally is a nightmare market for PIs, the AIM indices being down 20% plus since 1994 and yes i am fully aware of the pitfalls of investing

And so i am well aware of the risks in AIM bit did seek any more specific feedback on risks with CLNR before i add....A non Ex director is not generally considered a keyman to the running of the business and so the recent news and market reaction is not relevant to my question ....

You should know what risks you take when you back an AIM company but in the case of CLNR there is a good board with a new director who knows a great deal about the North Sea and todays price move makes me think that the market is not fussed about what has happened to the death of a non executive director.

Any thoughts...

What are the risks here for shareholders; Algy 's death possibly, but everything is in place is it not? The management, The Gas?

I am trying to quantify downside risk before averaging down...

Can any key the license expire or be taken away fro example ?

In todays Daily Telegraph it was announced that NICHOLAS BERRY a former director of CLNR and a close friend of Mr Cluff had died on Christmas Day.

GET ON WITH IT by Algy Cluff is a really interesting read and all shareholders should buy a copy.

He has always found the right people at the right time to come aboard his ventures and most investors have walked away with gain...........will that happen at CLNR now he has found a new front-man who may or may not unlock the gas.......we shall have to wait and see?

In Chapter 10 the two final words are "FULL CIRCLE" meaning that it was an oil find that made him money on his first commercial venture and now its CLNR at age 75 that will make his final throw of the dice very profitable.......so GET ON WITH IT....

BP drilling for Gas in the Southern North Sea, if successful they will look at other sites for drilling and production! Fingers crossed here!

Today is the last day for the MM to close and square up their dealing books, hence the mark down.

What I did get from Santa was a book "Get on with it" by Algy Cluff which I will review shortly.

This is how I will sign off my posts in 2017 as he is in the last chance saloon.......

i mean we have the gas, we have the management to deliver a deal and so all seems a one way upward bet, of course there is no such thing so why are well so confident ?

Wheres the likely or potential trip up here ? I have had too many bad experiences on AIM to be complacent !

It looks as though we could be buying at under 2.5p in the New Year so I shall wait until 9 January the first proper week of trading to top up. If there is an announcement in the meantime all well and good but I will wait.

I wonder; can we safely assume no more money to be raised now until hopeful partnership rns? I guess our new appointment must be on a fair salary or maybe stock option incentives ?

This new board member has a history working for Centrica which are nit too far from where we are, and used to own these licenses, all looking good I reckon!

Well its good news for CLNR today as a very compantent oil/gas man joins the board.

No doubt he will have looked at all the research papers and licenses etc to make sure that there were no can of worms and then said yes to Mr Cluff. So in a way he is doing the due dilegence for us.

The next step is to find the partner and that may be what he brings to the party but will it be in 2017 that we finally get a lift off in the share price? At the moment 3p for the value of the business and 6p if they find a partner and who knows after that as I will be off on holiday............

Well done for all your hard work in 2017 - Mr Cluff and team but the job is not yet finished.............
