21/6/2017 13:00 | Nod, Absolutely no sign whatsoever, the city is earning too much easy money from it I guess, so why would they want to change that scenario? | andy
21/6/2017 12:57 | PDQ ... AIM has been operating for 22 years now and has been a high risk investment for nearly as long. There is no sign that LSE wants to make it a more trustworthy market. | nod
21/6/2017 12:37 | Nod, Yes the protests about AIM appear to be getting louder, it consists of mainly lifestyle companies, with few exceptions. Managements earning huge salaries, with little or nothing personally invested, rewarding themselves with cheap options if they look as though they might create success, and all being funded by small PI's and their hard earned cash. Like a Nigerian 419 scam, if they run out of money they go back to the "owners of the company (LOL!) and ask for more, or "we'll go bust"! So pay us more or lose what you have invested so far, it's exactly how the 419 scam works! What's not to like? The whole AIM needs reviewing PDQ, chuck off the lifestyle guys and go back to basics. How much longer can the likes of Beaufort keep approaching the same PI's with deals where the price falls after the placing? There has to be an exhaustion point surely? | andy
21/6/2017 12:28 | Really good post from HITS on LSE chat, IMO. "AIM is largely a PI-based market, and CTAG hugely a PI-based stock. Realising this explains a number of things... the soap-opera-esque dramatic ups and downs, the high levels of emotion expressed on BBs, the clearly organised campaigns of a few attempting to influence the share price and make themselves $$$ at the expense of other PIs back when CTAG was listed (much easier to hustle PIs than institutional investors). So I also think there's an ongoing and fairly widespread fascination at how the soap opera's finally going to turn out and we'll get to see whether the main protagonist is actually a hero or a villain." ------- I agree with all of that, particularly the final comment. | andy
