Jakarta. President Joko Widodo has encouraged British business leaders to invest in Indonesia to combat the global economic slowdown.

Speaking at a business forum of Indonesian and British entrepreneurs at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel in London on Wednesday (20/04), the president advised them to keep calm and invest in his country.

"It is clear that the world is facing many challenges, starting from the Chinese economic transition, social and security ordeals in Europe, to the economic slowdown hitting various countries. I think the solution is simple, keep calm and invest in Indonesia," Joko was quoted as saying in a statement.

The president described Indonesia as an investment destination, proven by its economic growth rate of 5.04 percent in the fourth quarter of 2015.

"I believe Indonesia's economy is stable," Joko said, adding that infrastructure development and investment are the two main engines of the nation's economy.

He highlighted various government-backed infrastructure projects and said they were the largest in the history of Indonesia.

To further convince businessmen, the president said he would continue to apply economic reforms with two fundamental principles: competitiveness and transparency.

Good to see you here, and long as well.

Not doing much AIM these days. More US, and some Euro stuff.

I think they will too. We shall see.

Logic in my mind is that being short here might be pretty dangerous. The guys I know who short do not short ones like this, they look for more obvious targets and ones unlikely to go on moonshoots. Ones where the risk is to the downside.

A few weeks ago I was told there was very very little borrow here. That may have changed but at the time certain people were claiming to be shorting.

My opinion is they were talking this down to buy, the only conclusion, surely?
