At the minute yes, but there seems to be an even stronger resistance at 18,290. With the SP500 and the FTSE both being a bit toppy, I think it will struggle to get past that level.

Are others of the opinion that the dow may fall back to 17,600 soon?

strong us (un)employment numbers today
however, will they be sufficient to propel dow through 18,200 which has so far proved to be a stubborn resistance?

all very strange .... for some reason i've been receiving no alerts
like you shortie, i too have been going short of both ftse and dow with very acceptable success

currently i have one small dow short that is quite badly out of the money, but i'll leave it to run .... i also have a similar small ftse on the go from just a day or two ago which is showing a very small profit

DOW
after several attempts, it looks that 18,000 may at last have been breached (once more!) with impetus ..... if so, watch for 18,200+ ...... 18,278 is all time high

==============

after some stuttering and dithering, DOW is now walking or perhaps jogging towards 18,200

right what you need

1. at the beginning is a bracket in front of img, the bracket must be other way around from the finishing one down below.

Cant post it as site acts on it.

2.at end get rid of backslash....../

3. it should be "> to finish off with just those 2 symbols

By doing that you get ...................

Mike740 - regarding the topic of posting charts, is it meant to be something like this? Still cannot make it work...

Does anyone know any shares or any financial instruments that negatively correlates with the FTSE 100 (if such thing exists, of course)?

DOW has gone bonkers and is now up 335 .... and i thought i had done well taking profits on a new position about 175 points lower!

FTSE must surely be worth a punt as cash is up a paltry 12 points at 6870 even though both 25+50 dma levels are only slightly above this, so perhaps causing some resistance
