07/7/2005 15:07 | Dell... im PAYE now but yes i think he has every right to terminate and can quite understand if he does, the anti biotics were supposed to control things until after the operation but didnt work, if your tonsils are rancid then crowded trains and trams are a perfect way to pick up infection. as are telephone handsets so the bloke i worked with before with the rancid breath/bacteria problem didnt do me any favours. | jedi trader

07/7/2005 14:50 | dell, he's frustrating me as well. Can he be sacked from the PB threads? | mkearns
07/7/2005 14:48 | Jedi - You will need to doublecheck this but I believe that you don't have many employment rights, if you have less than 12 months employment with current employer. Also, the whole point of a contract of employment is that you are available to work. If you are a regular "sicknote" then you are frustrating that contract. Also, haven't you previously stated that you are "self-employed" which would give you even less chance of employment protection.... Rgds petebarnes' HR helpdesk | dell314
07/7/2005 14:38 | Dell i think i have to agree that he can do that legally, at least it will present no problems with bleeding the state dry and paying for this place while i undertake cash in hand landscaping work and likely end up better off than i am now. done it before, trufing gardens in the lovely sunshinem, finishing at 4 in the afternoon, few jars down the pub etc... it could suit quite well while i plant he next move. croydon may well be a mistake anyway, the travel expense and journey is far more hassle than i envisaged. | jedi trader
07/7/2005 14:31 | Indeed Wal , I'm off to the pub to watch the England reply . Good afternoon . | roberto george

07/7/2005 14:21 | LoL! I bet the samaritans will be busy that day. | clarence beeks
07/7/2005 14:20 | Jedi - LOL! I would have sacked you ages ago! I think you will find it quite legal and I seem to remember the terminology used is something like "frustrating your contract of employment". However, please feel free to check this with Citizen's Advice, as I'm sure they'll all be dying to hear the full story of your rancid tonsils.... Rgds The System All IMHO, DYOR etc. | dell314
