Carefully worded statement. Could have been worse, but events division sounds to be struggling.

Well that was a grim statement. I've been looking to get back in, as generally this is a nice little business, but suspected that 2008 trading was not good. Always a giveaway in the annual report when they avoid the subject! I will wait and see what the interims look like now, before making any decision.

"As a consequence, the Company's results will not meet current market expectations."

Afternoon

Anyone have a flipping clue what the market expectations were?

Current cash of "excess of £1M" is the same as cash at end of June 2007 (current market cap is £0.7M). Its unclear whether company will turn loss-making or be around break-evenish.

Cheerful Scout Plc ('Cheerful' or 'the Company')

Trading update

Cheerful Scout Plc, the AIM-traded events and film & video specialist, expects
to announce interim results for the 6 months ended 31st December 2007 on 20th
March 2008. Changing market conditions and a slowdown in corporate spending has
resulted in the recent loss of two large contracts, which it had been
anticipated would contribute to both half year and full year results. As a
consequence, the Company's results will not meet current market expectations. As
at 31st December 2007 the cash balances held by the Company were in excess of £1
million.

This company has won more awards the Madonna yet the share price keeps falling.
My advice would be to stop accepting them.

Small but interesting:

1 August 2007

Cheerful Scout Plc ('Cheerful' or 'the Company')

Joint Venture

Cheerful Scout Plc, the AIM-traded multi media specialist, has formed a new
company, Business Data Interactive ('BDI'), in a joint venture with Apperly &
Associates Limited ('A&A'), to take advantage of opportunities in the
fast-growing Business Intelligence market. By combining both companies'
technology and skills, BDI will provide powerful, fully-integrated computer
software programmes to analyse and display business data.

Under the terms of the agreement, Cheerful, which will own 60% of BDI, will
invest £200k and licence the intellectual property ('IP') for its proprietary
visualisation software package, nVision Strategy, to the new business. This
software converts business data into real-time, 3D video graphics. A&A will
licence the IP for its own Business Intelligence Engine to the new business
bringing sophisticated analytics and advanced data mining capabilities to the
product offering. The combined Business Intelligence package will enable clients
to visualise their data and conduct analysis in an engaging, interactive
environment, ultimately delivering strategic insight and driving better
management decision making.

Dr James Apperly, founder of A&A, will become Managing Director of BDI. Dr
Apperly, an Oxford graduate with a PhD in Neuroscience, established A&A in 2003
and has since worked with a number of blue-chip companies including BP and
Chevron-Texaco US designing and implementing business intelligence systems. He
previously worked at leading management consultancy, McKinsey & Company, where
he advised international companies on issues of strategy, organisation,
technology and operations.

Stuart Appleton, Cheerful's Chairman said, 'The Business Intelligence market is
maturing rapidly as companies understand the need for leading edge dynamic
market analysis in order to identify trends and consider their responses ahead
of competitors. Our combined creative talent and technological know-how, in
tandem with a deep understanding of the needs of business communications will
enable BDI to deliver powerful, highly sophisticated, bespoke products to this
market, unlike any other currently available.

'Dr Apperly, who will front the business, has considerable experience and
excellent contacts in the corporate arena. He will be a great asset to the
business so we are delighted to have him on the team.'

Am watching this from the sidelines.....maybe a good time to buy??

Re warrants....think most expired may 2007.

From the 2006 accounts.

On 1 May 2002 34,500,000 warrants were issued at the time of the company's
listing on the Alternative Investment Market.

Each warrant entitles the warrant holder to subscribe for an ordinary share at
the issue price of 2.5p per share. The warrants are exercisable at any time
until the expiry of 5 years from 1 May 2002.

The company has entered into a scheme to provide share option incentives for
staff. A total of 1,800,000 ordinary shares of 0.5p each have been offered at an
option price of 2.5p per share exercisable between 3 and 10 years after the date
of grant, which was 1 May 2002.

An additional 6,105,000 ordinary shares of 0.5p each have been offered at an
option price of 0.75p per share exercisable between 3 and 10 years after the
date of grant, which was 28 October 2004.

Cheerful Scout forecasts

The only press coverage I could find is the following:

snippet:

'Somewhat luckier was Rob King from Cheerful Scout who picked up Gold for Internal Live & Experiential Communications. This was for an event for Senior Associates at Allen & Overy. The event used Cheerful Scout's nVision coupled to a voting system which the judges called: "A bold, honest and refreshing initiative to tackle a major corporate issue head on, with results that extend beyonf A&O and across the legal profession."'
