In my opinion only, Cenkos owe shareholders and the market a detailed and rapid explanation as to why:

1. All three of the top management team of Chairman, Chief Executive and CFO have announced they are leaving the company within such a short time-frame (as this would in my view seem unlikely to be purely coincidental).

2. Why it is taking such a long time for Jim Durkin's approval from The FCA to come through.

Yes. Good points being made that might also explain the rather odd trading update. I would accept £1 at this point in the cycle. Below that level would be a poor deal for shareholders.

You may well be right QP, but I just wish that the share price could be a bit higher before the bid came in. At the current 67p we'll be very lucky if a bid comes in at around a £1. I might be alright on my recent additions / top ups but my core holding is longer in the tooth and well under the water. I can't see a bid coming in that would top 120p and enable me to get my cash back. Bah!

I know CNKS is a thinly traded stock and that today is probably one of the thinnest trading days of the year, but even so, to move up so strongly on such paltry volume does lend support to QP's view of something being afoot. I live in hope. I need 120p please.

I wouldn’t be impressed at any form of corporate activity at this time. Fair point though as it would explain the bizarre trading update. Maybe someone is sniffing around?

On 5th November, Cenkos issued an RNS saying that Jim Durkin is to be appointed Chief Executive "ONCE REGULATORY APPROVAL HAS BEEN RECEIVED" from the FCA.

Does it really take so long, some 7 weeks so far, to get regulatory approval for someone as well known as Jim Durkin - who anyway was previously in this same role?


That's unless there may or may not be something else afoot.

Lord gnome. Absolutely agree with you...spot on. Who knows what market expectations were or are for Cenkos? It’s certainly not available to the likes of you and me. Anyway I’m also encouraged. They will hopefully get back on track, and this RNS is really just a don’t worry...the wheels are not falling off and we are still profitable sort of RNS. Confident that Cenkos will bounce back under his more entrepreneurial leadership.

Odd that they issued the RNS at 3.50pm and not the usual 7am. Why rush it out then instead of tomorrow morning? And agree......it doesn’t tell investors much, but it’s better than bad news.

... deals look to be shy of £1 Billion this year not great .. was waiting for 52p to buy in again ... took 77p from 73p on the announcement of the return of Jim coming back and in again now at 67p ....

So 6p dividend gives 9% which is fine ....

Reckon Jim will look to offload the business and re-retire.

Yes, speedsgh. Current market expectations were for sweet fa so it could mean anything. Still, I'm relieved to see this RNS, especially after that nasty little tree shake this morning. I can't believe that wasn't contrived.
