"Good news continues at Castleton

We'll have to wait another month for H118 results from Castleton Technology. But it looks like the company is continuing on the right track. Today’s trading update tells us that revenue and EBITDA have grown by more than 10% organically in the six months to end September. Other KPIs are also positive: with the cash conversion strong, net debt has fallen over the period from £6.3m to £5.3m.

It has been nothing but good news from this provider of software and managed services to the public and not-for-profit sectors of late. Having bought numerous companies over the years, Castleton has since been building on the position it’s created (see Castleton makes more progress), paticularly in the social housing sector. Now, a combination of new client wins and cross-sell/up-sell success is driving a strong performance."

RNS. CFO Chapman sold £262k worth from his options. They were taken up alongside MXCP sell. Can't blame him. He's not in the LTIP and still has over £1.5m worth at current price in options as and when.

Castleton Technology signs managed services deal

Followingswiftly on the heels of its deal with Dumfries and Galloway Housing Partnership, CastletonTechnology has announced its managed services deal with Circle Voluntary Housing Association. The association was already a Castleton hosting customer (signed January this year), but the service provider has expanded the contract into a fully managed service offering including a cloud managed desktop-as-a-service (hosted in Castleton’s Tier 3 datacentres) with support delivered via its service desk.

The contract value at £364k over five and a half years is not as large as the Dumfries deal, but we think it’s notable as it shows Castleton is able to migrate customers from single solutions to more wide-ranging managed service deals. Furthermore, and provided it is of benefit to the customer, there should be opportunities to grow the revenue value of the contract over time.

In instances such as this, the technology provider becomes absolutely critical to the delivery of core services
. This is absolutely the position Castleton is pursuing and wins such as Dumfries and Circle will help build its reputation further in target sectors and create more momentum.
