The ‘big loan’ was reduced dramatically at year end ( I think from 70 mill to 25 mill - that might not be totally accurate but close to that. ) I would have expected to see it paid off next year as per the agreement

Not going to lie live down on the south coast and never even heard of tapi carpets done a bit of research and there nearest store is 30 miles away it's all carpet right down here yes it's a very big risk but the depending on how much you have invested the rewards could be very satisfying, yes they have debts what company's havnt which they are reducing and got under control and this so called big loan which I'm sure wouldn't have to be paid all at once , I've certainly seen more ads on tv and certainly heard a lot more on the radio so they must be doing something right ...

And yet Tapis ‘premium ‘ locations come at very high rents and many stores are not breaking even. My local store can not sustain enough business to keep its 3 part time fitters in work. Yet my Carpetright store contracts to 6 Full time fitters and are booked up 2/3 weeks in advance. And stores local to me are all in the same position - lots of work and fully booked fitters. Must be doing something right

Tapi are lucky that they trade from premium locations with well designed new stores, carpet rights new look stores are fine the old ones need to go asap, unfortunately the money required for refitting the older stores is not available due to current business climate and the demands of the CVA...also a big loan needing servicing in about 9 months...the loan will..if paid at all...be paid back with further borrowing, a vicious circle of expanding debt and weak sales will spell the end of it, very few CVA companies ever rise back to former levels with the majority just postponing the inevitable closure.

It’s strange that so many of you on here have been predicting the end of Carpetright for best part of 18 months or more. And yet we are still here.
Yet you think Tapi is the future of carpet retail. Well let’s wait and see when there figures are released in the next few weeks. Last years were bad and that was before the perfect storm of last year hit them

The Brexit carry on has raised costs of buying in stock by 28%, their already inflated prices cannot take this being added, September is when carpet sales begin to rise, however October/ November are the key months, not sure CR will survive till then....

Trustpilot reviews don't save underperforming companies, the share price breaking 14p will be the end for it with huge loans to be repaid next year a tired and outdated portfolio of premises and rents to be negotiated again shortly, a perfect storm, get out while you can, this company is past resuscitation.

heyyyy those were the days for sure the intrim DIvI's were more than the current share price Divi on the year was awsome. I to was in From day one and buying many times over the years, was nice to see the share price hit the dizzzy heights of £12.00 many people said for years from the circa £3 mark the rising share price could not last and month in month out lots were predicting a fall and so the share price continued to rise . indeed good times, but of course all was so difrent then, I could harp on but as you were invested from such an early stage you like me would know the difrence between now and then. chalk n cheese. We wont see a return to the explosion days when the company expansion was frantic the rise in share price was unstopable and the twice yearly healthy rising DIVI was most welcome.I will be the first to apologise if I'm prooved wrong of course and the "good old days" do return.Sadly though, I think not.K

If that's the case then upper management have clearly given up the ghost too, he's been connected with more failed companies than you can wave a stick at.

@bc4 - you are spot on. “So, it looks like the end of world is near?” Hahahaha! According to some of the shorters posts here, that certainly seems to be the case :). Constant negative posts about CPR by Tapi/Carpet world employees on this BB is getting a bit boring. Bottom line is, like New look, rather then sitting on there bottoms and doing nothing about the situation they were in last year, Carpetright grabbed the bull by the horns and doing everything they can, to turn the business around and as per the last trading update and results announcement, they seem to be succeeding in their efforts and have managed to turned the business around by restructuring their Ops. No doubt there is still some way to go yet but I think they will get there over the coming months. Buy and hold for a year or so is what I would do. Potential rewards are huge here. Don’t remember last time I saw a stock jump 90% in a day like this did on the last trading update announcement day.
