Dont know how JP can still offer a quote for CIHL. It has been acquired by WIHL.

"I suspect that JPJenkins will offer them for 36p a share."

Why would anyone pay 36GBX per share when the last share price was 26.50. There are several bargains to to be made on JPJ but all at a , probably, unrealistic price. I would keep hold of them and see where the dividend takes us.

for the sake of argument, cihl & wihl are valued equally (e.g EV)
The share exchange at 1.25 does give a large implied premium to CIHL.
Basically it is saving Ash some overheads in the short term.
In the longer term, Ash must be tempted to extract more value from WIHL.
Latin America edible oils looks a bit isolated.

EK

We spoke the other week about some WIHL shares that I have for sakle. I suspect that JPJenkins will offer them for 36p a share. You're welcome to buy mine at that price if you are still interested - not a bad price considering that the NAV is around 95p per share and there is a dividend coming in December. Please let me know if you decide to proceed as I would need to contact my broker.

Regards

Horace

Anyone knows what this means for the Cihl shareholders? Is the old Cihl share still worth anything or is it all embezzled by those corporate actions designed to rob the small shareholders.

I am now the owner of 29k shares in WIHL which I have held either as WIHL or CIHL for many years. Is anyone interested in buying them if I make them available on Jenkins? I would normally continue holding but I might need the cash.

The consideration for the Sale will be satisfied by the issue of new WIHL shares to Lord Ashcroft at an exchange rate of 1.25 WIHL shares for every 1 Company share (the "Exchange Ratio"). The Exchange Ratio results in an implied premium for Company shareholders.

The CIHL share price is only a tad short of the 30p level distinctively shown on the chart. Banks are falling sharply and like it or not the company is being dragged down.
Few shares to be traded and repeating the words of EK, it can move sharply in either direction and needs patience.

Hard to say what will happen if the Banking sector continues its reversal. Next and only further retraction point on the chart is 27p and with the dividend paid brings it back to just before the xd point.
