Turbotrader - thanks for clearing that up.
A pity. It would be worth more than 4p to me as a tax loss.

As Cardinal has been de-listed from AIM and is no longer tradable is it possible to treat the investment as a total loss for CGT purposes, and to set the loss against profits from other trades?
My guess would by 'no', but any advice would be appreciated

turbotrader2,

I'm still here.

There's little to talk about until we get some more definite news. I haven't done much research on Condor recently, as most of the original links appear to have disappeared from the internet - but I'm sure that Cardinal are busy securing/finalising deals and identifying potential new deals.

I'm surprised that as yet, we do not appear to have had confirmation that the KEC/CDL deal has been completed.

Of course, the deal was conditional upon certain events happening and as far as I'm aware, not all the conditions have been satisfied.

The time period for all the conditions to be satisfied, expires on the 20th February 2008.

Regards,

Xena

Well, the FTSE collapses 5.5% and my investment in CDL remains untouched by the carnage! Thankful for small mercies, etc...

DB:

Latest circular reads: "the size of the ukrainian assets relative to Cardinal means that the Disposal is deemed to result in a fundamental change of business....the Company will not hold any tangible operating assets going forward".

If company does not have assets to operate - it cant be called e&p company but an investment company. AIM rules.

shotts,

you use the word 'WILL' like it's a certainty. Have you got your ear to the horse's mouth or something? btw, if that horse's name is Natalia, it's probably best not post things like that in future.
