19/11/2009 08:06 | Nice find timbo. Still a little quiet here for a stock with SO much appeal?? | santangello
18/11/2009 19:25 | From tonight's Evening Standard, looks like CPUB may be heading back to the divi list, yippee! | timbo003

22/10/2009 19:13 | ...a bit of help in cutting costs, recorded music licences to fall;- "PPL forced to pay back up to £20m to pubs - and current fees to be cut in half" | jeff h
20/10/2009 23:52 | Hi timbo - well I'll be happy if they keep increasing profits and use the cash flow to make the occasional acquisition and pay down debt. I'd hope that the fall of sterling leads to more tourists to give a boost to trade. Yes I note that CPUB previously had a management contract with Convivial. Next update will be the Interims so we'll see how trading is going then. I'll have to pay a visit for research purposes to a couple of thier establishments the next time I'm in London! | jeff h
20/10/2009 20:50 | Hi Jeff Agreed, compared to the big managed pub companies (most noteably Wetherspoons and Mitchells & Bultler) CPUB look very good value indeed. I think there maybe a seller out there (no idea who it is, could be a VCT?) which might hold the price down for a while. Having said that, I suspect an awful lot of CPUB shares may be held as share certificates by high net worth individuals who were put into these shares by their IFAs (because of the generous EIS tax breaks) I wonder how many of these old boy/girl high net worth individuals even remember where they have put their certificates or know what to do with them even if they could find them? I reckon not many, as a result, I suspect CPUB shares are more tightly held than most other AIM companies with a market cap of circa £14M. I bought my CPUB shares in the open market a few months ago, but I was made aware of them through investing in Capital Pubs 2 (another EIS issue made available through IFAs), which has now changed its name to the Convivial pub company Convivial remains an unquoted ltd company and I hope it remains so until investor sentiment improves. | timbo003
20/10/2009 18:38 | ...bought some more today, excellent value imo | jeff h
19/10/2009 08:14 | Joined you here and bought some timbo. I see Altium have lifted next years Forecast by £200k on 16/10/09:- Y/E 28/3/10 Pre Tax £2.2m EPS 7.6p Y/E 28/3/11 Pre Tax £2.6m EPS 8.9p As you say still acquiring for cash from a very experienced management team suggests the company is doing well. | jeff h
16/10/2009 07:40 | I see that today CPUB have managed to buy what looks like a real bargain in the Wishing Well (SE 16) 2000 square feet of trading space, an outside area and 17 letting rooms, all for just £880K. I note also that they paid cash, which is very reassuring. | timbo003
15/10/2009 19:17 | Some very encouraging news on the auction price achieved for a number of Enterprise's London pubs today (see links below): | timbo003
10/9/2009 08:03 | A reassuring trading update out today Come on Green King or other cash rich pub company (Marstons?), you could buy a highly profitable managed pub company, with only modest gearing which owns 25 quality, freehold, free of tie, London pubs, for around £25M (given that the current market cap is around £13M). You know it makes sense! | timbo003
30/6/2009 10:20 | tucked a few away | value viper
30/6/2009 07:48 | Results out today, lookin' good, strong positive cashflow and profitable. Earnings being retained to pay down debt and invest in new pubs so no divi this time around. Maybe Green King would like to make an offer from their (rights issue funded) war chest. | timbo003
28/4/2009 16:03 | If the Feb 08 NAV of 182p still holds plenty of upside... could get past 60 today | tooredtobleed
28/4/2009 13:16 | I tried to buy some at 55 limit and could not.... now they just have a silly spread - if no one wants to sell the price has to go up! | tooredtobleed
28/4/2009 12:16 | CPUB having a good day against tthe general trend. Despite the recent rise they are still way too cheap compared to other quoted, managed pub companies. | timbo003
23/4/2009 07:23 | Rights issue at Green King announced this morning, they would do well to consider making an offer for CPUB, which are still as cheap as chips (market cap only £10.5M), despite the recent rise. Rights Issue to raise approximately £207.5 million, net of expenses, through the issue of 80,749,647 New Shares at a price of 270 pence per share, in order to enable Greene King to: * make selective acquisitions at attractive prices of freehold, retail pubs in the Home Counties, London and Scotland; and * repurchase some of Greene King's securitised debt at significantly below par value to take advantage of the current credit market conditions whilst at the same time further strengthening its financial position. | timbo003
21/4/2009 21:35 | I'm feeling quite pleased with my recent purchases of these, they seem to be playing catch up with the large cap pub cos, long may it continue. I will not consider (even for a microsecond) selling these until they get beyond the original (EIS) subscription price of £1. We may see some movement (either way) following the budget tomorrow, all depends on what our beloved leaders have planned for pubs and booze in general | timbo003 |
