23/8/2021 09:54 | Good coverage of the confident AGM statement in the Scottish Herald: And in The Times: "Calnex reports strong trading Calnex Solutions has said telecoms customers are continuing to spend as it highlighted a strong order book. The company, which provides testing and measuring equipment, said at its annual meeting that it was seeing good adoption of new products in the three months to the end of June, the first quarter of its new financial year. It pointed to the upgrading of networks which is taking place to handle greater data needs because of the shift to cloud computing and the impending roll-out of 5G mobile. Calnex believes its Field Sync product has a “unique ability” to test 5G networks. It had continued its “strong” trading and “good order” levels in the first quarter of the 2022 financial year, in line with its expectations." | rivaldo
19/8/2021 11:00 | Its worth remembering Green on their investor presentation - they were honest about a number of customers bringing forward spending - so whilst top line growth is static - it is increase in demand due to the expectations last year. They also mentioned that their industry works in cycles - and with launch of new products and services, revenue is grown longer term. Feel its steady as she goes but a good buy and tuck away share - IMHO | jimmywilson612
19/8/2021 10:35 | Agree Riv - my sentiments too ! | masurenguy
19/8/2021 10:26 | I suspect that "expectations" will turn out to be conservative given everything I've seen of the company's extremely prudent CEO and how he operates. The IPO at 48p was particularly cautiously valued. Then the company exceeded expectations in its first post-IPO year. We now know that main customer SPT are firing on all cylinders, and this has been reinforced by today's statement. Better to underpromise and overdeliver. | rivaldo
19/8/2021 07:56 | But remember in line with their expectations means no growth this year. | greenknight1
19/8/2021 06:41 | Yes - a very positive statement. I particularly liked this comment: "The strength of trading and positive evolutionary trends affecting the telecoms sector described above provide the Board with continued confidence in Calnex's ability to deliver on its growth strategy and a positive outcome to the year in line with current market expectations." | masurenguy
19/8/2021 06:18 | Very encouraging, confident AGM statement today. The year to date has seen "strong trading and good order levels". New products are seeing "encouraging" pre-orders, and are ideally placed for 5G rollout. There's been no effect at all from semiconductor supply issues, and CLX are already able with only one quarter gone to confidently state that expectations will be achieved: | rivaldo
12/8/2021 07:37 | Following Spirent's results, what are the chances of an above expectations statement prior to the AGM on 19th? 70% revenues are from Spirent. Commentators say that the forecasts from the company are typical of the company's consevativeness so I am optimistic. | doctor888
10/8/2021 22:09 | Interesting closing trade - 10,000 shares bought at 116p, way above the 113p published offer price. | rivaldo
10/8/2021 13:02 | News dated yesterday of a product launch of a Network Emulator: I also note that Spirent have directly referenced CLX in an upcoming series of presentations, which is a nice prestigious reference: "Validating the S-Plane in O-RAN August 12, 2021 Join us to understand why synchronization is important in mobile networks, how the requirements of O-RAN align with existing time and sync specifications, and how Calnex can help you achieve validation success. Speaker: Neil Jackson, Senior Product Applications Engineer Your key takeaways from this webinar: Understand how ITU-T, O-RAN and 3GPP requirements apply to sync in an O-RAN network Gain an overview of different O-RAN sync topologies See how Calnex can leverage our extensive experience in measuring time and sync to accelerate your validation processes Understand how O-RAN nodes (O-DU, O-RU) can be tested independently and in a network" | rivaldo
09/8/2021 14:37 | Of course !! I missed that . Thank you. | dicktrade
09/8/2021 13:13 | Spirent is moving up today so Calnex is following in their wake! | masurenguy
09/8/2021 12:46 | Not tipped as far as I observe but it may be catchup in relation to the Spirent results and all the comments on testing ...recognising they use CLX kit to do so. | gerihatrick
09/8/2021 10:41 | Nice move up this morning. Any ideas why ? Has it been tipped / recommended anywhere ? | dicktrade
05/8/2021 08:13 | Calnex are a major supplier for spirent so should be a positive read across. | deanowls
05/8/2021 07:45 | Yes SPT looks a better bet on 5G than calnex | zingerburger
05/8/2021 07:43 | Excellent results from SPT today - which have been well received by the market. Lots of snippets about the rosy prospects for 5G testing etc, including amongst others: "5G continues to be a strong, enduring growth driver with over 400 new deals in the first half - up from more than 250 5G related deals in the first half of last year." "5G-driven growth continued across all lab-based technologies, including good growth for our connected devices products and device test solutions because of the upgrade cycle." "We commercialised lab test market expansion beyond our core telco and network equipment customers, especially with large hyperscalers targeting 5G core and edge network opportunities." "5G is the most important and enduring driver for Spirent and our 5G portfolio continues to be a distinct competitive advantage, winning new business and showing strong growth. From device testing and accelerating time-to-market, to assuring and securing live networks, our 5G portfolio offers award-winning solutions to customer challenges. With over 400 new 5G engagements in the first half of 2021, we have won over 1,400 5G-related deals to date and are the global leader in 5G core network testing. We are also working with all of the world's top ten 5G mobile service providers." "5G device testing requirements are continuing to evolve with new form factors, while user experience and service assurance become even more important in highly competitive markets." | rivaldo
03/8/2021 07:40 | Me too. Now I wait. | petewy
03/8/2021 06:22 | Interesting article on stockopedia about IPOs. Says selling after 6 months seems to be a decent strategy as that’s when interest starts to wane. Would certainly apply to a few I’ve held recently. It’s free to access even if your not a subscriber. | dr biotech
02/8/2021 11:27 | Cheers for that. Encouraging to see the CEO emphasising the potential for more and larger acquisitions. | rivaldo
30/7/2021 08:42 | Informative interview here: Explains the rationale behind the acquisitions which have been essential to growth, although some commentators have maligned them unfairly. Looking forward to future growth in revenues and the upcoming dividend. | doctor888
26/7/2021 19:36 | Broker downgrade bigger issue as profit Expected to be falling this year | onjohn
26/7/2021 11:17 | I reckon it'll take half a decade to roll out a proper 5G network (whatever that will be!), rivaldo. Whatever the end point is, it'll be radically different from our current experiences - particularly in the production and distribution industries. Journalists will blither about the internet of things endlessly, but I don't think that will be where the revolution will be. Also, it may well be that the first generation christened 5G will be disappointing. 😊 So, I reckon Calnex has both a growing and changing market for its wares for years to come. Rock solid little company. I'm looking to increase. apad | apad |
