Is it impossible to comprehend that investors don't sell in the short term and wait until the share price recovers.
It happens all the time.
This company makes on average £400-500m profit before tax over past 7 years. For me, this looks like good value for a 2 or 3 year investment horizon. Can't be bothered to be baited by an internet troll. GLA.

Share prices go up and down. Offering value entry and exit points.

Bye. Good luck all genuine investors.

Burberry and easyJet heading for FTSE 100 exit

Published: 16:02 23 Aug 2024 BST

Burberry Group PLC (LSE:BRBY) and easyJet PLC (LSE:EZJ) are set to depart the FTSE 100 in the next quarterly reshuffle, according to wealth platform Hargreaves Lansdown.

Likely replacements are insurer Hiscox and property group Tritax Big Box.

Down a level, stripped-down computer maker Rasperry Pi is set to oust IP group in the FTSE 250.

According to Sussanah Streeter, HL’s head of equity research said Burberry has reported a sharp decline in revenues, falling at double-digit rates during the first quarter. In response, the company has suspended its dividend to strengthen its balance sheet amid ongoing challenges.

The new CEO, Joshua Schulman, is faced with the daunting task of reversing the company's fortunes.

EasyJet continues to encounter headwinds in the low-cost aviation sector, with concerns about a potential softening in demand.

Despite a better-than-expected third quarter, the company has not regained its pre-crisis momentum.

Tritax Big Box has seen positive investor sentiment as it shifts its strategy to capitalize on both large and small warehouse and logistics centres, crucial for e-commerce trends.

The company recently completed a key acquisition of UK Commercial Property REIT (LSE:UKCM), which adds complementary assets to its portfolio.

Hiscox shares have risen on speculation of potential acquisition interest from Japan’s Sompo Holdings and Italy's Assicurazioni Generali Spa.

Raspberry Pi (LSE:RPI) made a strong stock market debut, with its shares soaring. The company now manufactures computer modules for industrial clients in the Internet of Things sector.

IP Group has been impacted by geopolitical factors and global economic uncertainty, leading to a decline in the valuations of its holdings.

Classic Terry Smith quote apt buy into a business that an idiot can run, as one day one will. Burb proved this & for investors that say blah blah China, sales tax etc look at Ralph Lauren up 50% this year almost a carbon copy business.

Had picked 690 level as likely bottom yesterday as all my machinations pointed to it

Didn't venture in myself (no dividend)

Thought I'd missed the boat but looking at the action here and elsewhere am now of the view that if 690 is broken as looks increasingly likely then I will have to re-evaluate.

There is no market as FOMO and FOGC occupies a lot of investors minds.

It is not something I am comfortable with so am staying out

Directionless .

Think this could go lower and I am not willing to take a chance

I am long of Diageo but as a fashion victim and retired football fanatic will have to give this a body swerve.

Best of luck to those who endeavour to make sense of it

Have a good weekend

#Essential investor, our new lead will make changes to the strategy that is not working, he was bought in to design/deliver a turnaround, IF the former CEO has failed I would not expect him to blindly follow it and expect different results..? that does not make any sense, changes will be made..

I do note the comment 15.07.2024 of - I would like to take this opportunity to thank Jonathan Akeroyd for the contribution he has made to Burberry. Jonathan has set out a clear strategy for growth that we will build on - but IMO this is a pat on the back on the way out, he knows it has not worked, we know it is not working and there is the door, trying to take a brand further up the luxury scale and priced to it in times of high interest rates and inflation will alienate your core aspirational shoppers with reduced spend available, we need to reach a wider audience not a smaller one..?

Do many aspirational shoppers have GBP300 to spend on a baseball cap, 500 for a T shirt, 600 for a pair of boxer shorts, and 2,500 for an over coat..?, HNW/UHNW individuals do not even look at prices, but most shoppers do..

See what our new CEO thinks, he starts today.. :o)

What a disaster should have been a RNS earlier I would have thought, no div 25 & 26 maybe a couple of pence as a bone to investors. Clearly a multitude of mistakes, too many to detail here. Compare to Ralph Lauren up 50% this year well managed in comparison. Can,t see a takeover as other luxury brands also struggling but not too this extent avoid unless shorting.

#Essential investor, the BOD drive strategy, we will have to wait and see the results, any progress made will be welcomed over 2024, the disposable spending squeeze will continue for a while yet but rates coming back will be the start of the process (IMO)..

March 2023 vs March 2024 results
Profit -36%
EPS -40%
SP now down -60% (from 2200 to 900)

The call wasn't good not helped by the cfo being in hospital for an operation and the investor relations chap being stand in finance expert. Huge spread in analysts forecasts as none including company seems to have a clue at this stage. Guess if anyone wants to buy it is now the time to strike or wait until after the interims which could be dire.
