04/2/2012 10:46 | I really don't see a take over on the cards unless it's priced at a 'can't refuse' level. BTG are on a clear path, cash rich, sales team mainly in place and some exiting and highly profitable prospects. I also suspect the BOD would like to be seen as creating a major company. It's not all about the money! Having said that, it's not impossible that someone might buy Varisolve, especially if they have a direct route to market. What's it worth? I would think £5 a share on it's own, once it's approved. | waterloo01
04/2/2012 10:36 | if we get taken out i dont see a problem as long as its a decent price . | lingy
04/2/2012 10:31 | It will have to be a very big buy which would only put off 'small' pharmas, whereas it would still be easily swallowed by a big pharma at twice the size it is now. That is not to say that BGC taking out smaller companies with little cash, but decent products close to development, won't continue. | semper vigilans
04/2/2012 10:25 | Will be very surprised if astra do not offer in the region of £6 if tests are going well before the year is out. | bargainbob
04/2/2012 10:21 | loss-leader, yes certainly possible although with Varisolve hopefully licensed by the end of this year, they would be rightly nervous of taking on too much. It would be daft not to have the sales team focused on this as it has so much potential and will be highly profitable If they did it would have to be earnings enhancing and fit with what we're already selling (in the USA). Not sure who might fit that bill? I can think of lots of early stage companies, but most would be too early stage for BTG | waterloo01
04/2/2012 09:48 | I think they are already a target. | bobby.ifa
04/2/2012 09:40 | I wonder if we are due another acquisition? It seems to have taken management about 7 months to absorb past acquisitions. This might be good in the medium/long term and also act as a defence to prevent BTG being taken out in the short term. There would be a glitch in the share price rise .. but in the longer term it would feel like consolidation. Comments? ll | loss-leader

31/1/2012 02:39 | I would have thought yesterday's news would have warranted more than a 2.3% rise in the share price, though i'm in for the longterm so not unduly concerned by it. | enormouswillie |
