Drahi probably didn't want to sell but he's Companies are in a distressed state with debt and fraud allegations. Also they are leveraged too high and could collapse completely. In the circumstances he got a good price.

Action why would you sell at £1.50?
Surely if a big buyer buys in at £1.50, they are going for more...
Either takeover or massive recovery play....

They know more about BT than we do....

Perhaps they will get BT a really lucrative Indian contract....
Who knows their plans....

Well at least Drahi got a fair price given the circumstances. I don't think he's troubles are over by any stretch.

Drahi is in a mess. Also sold a stake in Sotheby's last Week.
That kind of debt now that rates have risen is unsustainable.

The irony is BT once owned 21% of Barhti Airtel - that would be worth around $20billon now! Probably less with dilutions etc.

That has to be a riser. They are a much more credible bidder than Drahi as they are already massive in Telecoms.
I know it's the Investment part but it is all connected.

Drahi is not in a good position. $60billion of debt is unsustainable and I'm pretty sure he has taken a hit on his BT stake.
