The bulls including myself have buried our head in the sand, saying Ofcom won't do anything, but I'm not so sure the longer its goes on.

Problem is a great deal of BT profits come from Openreach, no doubt it would be a complete nightmare for BT, thats why I say either 310p or 410p on news.

You could just as easy argue that time was running out for Ofcom.
BT, quite rightly, does not want to seperate openreach any further than it has already! The cost is disproportionate and tbh there is no gain to be had from any side other than the financial damage it would cause BT benefiting its competitors.
Ofcom should take what it's been offered and think itself lucky. I think the only stumbling block is Sharon Whites ego!

There is an item in the Times that isn't too encouraging, indicating the ball is presently in BT's court:

Seeking a crumb of comfort, a crumb - no more, in AT behaviour, there is a chance of a turning point now as the h&s possible chart structure with head at 373 may have completed.

Good day for golf I think!

Drifting until Sharon White at Ofcom makes a decision and shares don't drift up.

No one in their right mind buys or sells what they read on the bulletin boards. It's a discussion forum your views, if you don't like them then there is a filter button, I have several on filter especially the vile witch Jenny.

Thank you to those who so kindly advised me not to take Monty's advice. Clearly you are not aware that I have followed his Vicar of Bray and highly suspect recommendations on this board for some time now and was hoping he might just say SELL for that would have persuaded me to add further to my present holding. You must have missed my posting many months ago when I described him as the Warren Buffoon of ADVFN. Rest assured I have him accurately assessed, I am no innocent abroad, but thanks for your concern over my apparent naivety and to newcomers to this board who might just be tempted to listen to him. CH.

churchtower,

toon1996 is quite right, don't take advice (apart from this) from anyone who posts on ADVFN, LSE and the like - least of all monty. The only person who rates what monty has to say (apart from monty himself) is Minerve - which is odd because, despite being a remoaner, Minerve appears semi-sensible.

If you familiarize yourself with monty's posting history, you will see his opinion of BT changes with the wind. It's fairly safe to say, you'd have made money trading in & out of BT, if you just do the polar opposite of what that twerp recommends.

churchtower - just out of interest would you actually buy or sell equity on the advice of someone you have never met before or even know?

So for about £6b then BT could fibre up 7,000,000 homes maybe. Hmm I can see that's a kinda expensive proposition- unless a few Russian oligarchs and Sky chip in.
