PI Investors are not a big deal in the UK. Pension Funds need to be in again, an absolute travesty that they sold all their stock. Around £2 Trillion worth, no wonder they have poor returns.
They then have the Cheek to blame the Stock Market which they all sold out of and caused it's demise! Sack the lot of them!

Reverting the threshold would be pleasing.

He won't do that- they know it would tarnish themselves for the whole next parliamentary cycle. Reeves and Starmer have always said there were no plans to increase CGT.

Well if he increases capital gains tax, the city will destroy him!

Hard to say for sure but Starmer does seem to understand that London market needs to be attractive, which if we can incentivise people to invest, coupled with the fact that stocks like BT that have been held down at historical lows, could have the potential to send this much, much higher? The fact he has positioned Labour very, very centrally on the political horizon suggests he knows he's got to get big money on side.

Let the bun fight commence....

Kester Mann, analyst at CCS Insight, said Slim may have eyes on a bigger stake himself – and could even buy out Drahi.

‘Slim’s move on BT could form a beachhead, having recently reduced his interest in Dutch operator KPN,’ he said. ‘Should that be the case, he may find a willing seller in Patrick Drahi.’

Don't put everybody in the same basket about moaning...because I wasn't...you can call it conspiracy theories I would call it just sharing an opinion on this thread without confrontation...if we were thinking like you the thread would be very boring...in April the price didn't jump 20p...and he could have bought on the rise once figures were known...buyer only has to disclose stake once 3% threshold has reached/crossed...

when you and isis were moaning about everything going i would add, meanwhile i was telling you it was a bargain and time to add…..
