Guss your reply says:

So the weirdness is exampled in your reply, as you suspected - and not one character trasnposed into another but one character into 3.
Are you seeing weird characters as you type, or only when reading after?

Edit - Typing looked normal, after hitting enter and reading back I see pound sign comes out weird and remains weird whilst I am in edit mode for this update.
Seems to be caused by advfn as they save our entry.

Guss, I have what looks like chinese characters (atelast weird) symbols where possibly "�" or other symbol expected some of the time. Thought maybe browser not recognising certain fonts.
Noticed in last few days, don't know if this is same symptom you experience.

66 million people in the UK, most of them use more than one service from BT, even if they think they don�t. Bound to get a few complaints.
Not to mention business services.

I think you will find BT Openreach will use subcontractors to do much of their installation and maintenance work. My line was recently upgraded to fast broadband. It took all of 15 minutes by one engineer (subcontractor) which included fitting of a new socket, work at the CAB and then completed with a phone call back to me and a texted line test result demonstrating line speed. No problems whatsoever...

Bt appear to use many self employed or people paid on the basis of the number of installations they deliver in a day.Therefore this leads to a major problem.

A The fitters will do the easy installations and leave the messy jobs for the next
Installer who will have the same outlook.

B As Openreach admin could not organise a booze up in a brewery this leads to huge wastage of time and resources which Open reach absorb.

If Bt are now going to expand and are unable to fix this issue they could be vulnerable to substantial losses.

I recently experienced this when 5 engineers called to install a line discovered it would take more than an hour and simply left the job incomplete.Open reach internal communications meant each person coming out had no knowledge of the previous engineer visit.

I note bt announces big changes in customer service, let us see what unfolds.

This BT blue rope was left in my bin,i tested it in controlled way,
for holding the dangerous power in car coil springs and managed to
do it twice,not risking it a third time.
This rope is cheap enough to produce and use safely once,so easily disposed
of but not so good for the enviroment.

The blue polyester rope was in almost perfect condition after only being used once and the engineer was grateful that I asked him to leave a couple of 75m lengths with me so he didn't have to take it to the local tip to throw away.

The engineer said this rope could easily be used quite a few times, he just wasn't allowed to by the company he was working for.

BT do not put in all the fibre cables themselves, they also use contractors. It was one of these contractors who put in the 5G fibre cables in our local area and I can image they charge BT a good deal of money for all this new polyester rope they keep using then charging BT double what is costs to them throw it away.
