24/7/2008 12:38 | Big buys gong through, multiple RNS', nothing much, no rumours on bids, and was below 700p which is the bottom for this (charts, bids & sentiment). It's a good one to buy sub-700p as it always bounces back up. Good to hold aswell incase of bid news. | mirex
24/7/2008 12:33 | like it whats the rise for anyone know? | praipus
22/7/2008 08:44 | They need to fix the reactors and get them back into service before any price increases can be fully appreciated. It's overrun massively already and doubled in costs!!! We shoudl even see a good bounce once they are back in service!? | mirex
21/7/2008 01:28 | Given the forward electricity prices, we can expect £10 by next year. | hightech
18/7/2008 13:23 | Not dead, just VERY complicated and after all, the Governemtn (UK PLC) owns half so even more complications. There are also security, political and global implications to a takeover as UK needs to retain overall control of nuclear power in UK for al those and safety reasons. 730p is slight undervalue but Brown may move things on if UK gets more desperate for it's share as HARD CASH. This will flit between 680-750 until any news appears. Thats a good trading range to take advantage of and a good place to be when news appears. | mirex
09/7/2008 20:44 | Anybody got a view on takeover? Is it dead in the water and if so what's next for the SP? | louish
08/7/2008 11:50 | Technically looking very solid. A continuation diamond formed and price break out confirmed in last few days. | contrarian trader
15/6/2008 16:40 | ................... EDF's 700 pence a share bid was spurned by British Energy shareholders on the grounds that the bid undervalues the company. The newspaper said some analysts have placed a value of 11 pounds per share on British Energy. Shareholders, which make up 25 percent of the company's stock, are in favour of the joint-venture plans, according to the report. ................. | hightech
13/6/2008 07:56 | why the dont they auction off each reactors separately. British energy is too big for one company to swallow. | thacker001
09/6/2008 15:09 | That looks like good news! Won't be sold for less than 735 anyway. | richardbroughton
09/6/2008 14:49 | RNS Number : 3048W British Energy Group PLC 09 June 2008 British Energy Group PLC 9 June 2008 British Energy Group plc update on discussions On 16 May 2008, the Board of British Energy announced that it had received a range of proposals from several parties wishing to make a full offer for the Company including the Nuclear Liabilities Fund's convertible cash sweep interest. Since then, discussions have continued. However, none of the proposals put forward so far is above the share price at the close of business on Friday 6 June. The Board is clear that in current circumstances such proposals do not represent value for shareholders as they fail to take proper account of the current forward price of electricity and the value of the Company's sites and people in the context of nuclear new build. The Board will continue to progress the opportunities available either through an offer for the Company or other partnering arrangements which maximise the value of British Energy's participation in nuclear new build. It expects further discussions with interested parties. There can be no certainty that any of the discussions will lead to an offer being made for the Company nor as to the terms on which any offer would be made. A further announcement will be made in due course. | nabcom
09/6/2008 12:16 | Lou, if there was anything in that the share price woud be 60p off this AM. It will go for over 8 quid but maybe not much over. | richardbroughton
08/6/2008 07:16 | Read todays papers and it looks like EDF are stick on buyers at £6.8 per share - hope this is not true.... | louish
07/6/2008 20:01 | World needs 1400 new nuclear power station | hightech
05/6/2008 23:30 | Bidders should consider £10+ to buy BGY imo. | hightech
03/6/2008 06:56 | bidding war and so there should be, selling this off on the cheap as our rulers have made such a mess is not on. | elmfield
02/6/2008 20:19 | "British Energy Group added 14 at 748, on rumours that Spanish energy company Iberdrola SA has made a bid valuing the company at 885 pence per share." | bestace
28/5/2008 20:52 | If Brown is as good as his words; and remains able to act on them. So that's a pretty big discount factor. | scribbler101
28/5/2008 15:03 | Brown said the government will invest in Nuclear Energy, double production etc... BGY is more valuable then yesterday. | hightech
27/5/2008 21:17 | Speedy - I am with you, surely this share price should be around £7-£8 and at least £9-£10 with premium for takeover. Unfortunately the Brit Govt is in charge of this sale and Mr Browns brother is a very well connected person in EDF so company will be sold for less than £7 - we should start rioting in the streets like the French do.... I also noticed, completely off topic but MP's are to get a £23k allowance for second homes to avoid scrutiny over expenses - what a f..king racket | louish
27/5/2008 20:32 | Wholesale electricity appears to be in the range £60 - £70 per MWh for the UK, and has been for a while. I thought that this should have pushed BGY's price a lot higher. Maybe double profits, double share price? I'm wondering what I've missed??? | speedy
27/5/2008 13:55 | No chance of £10 IMO although it would be very nice! I'll be happy with £8, anything more a bonus. | richardbroughton |
