TIDM32OW Brit Insurance Holdings B.V. Dane Douetil, Chief Executive of Brit Insurance Holdings B.V., has announced his intention to step down with effect from October 27th. He will be succeeded, subject to FSA approval, by Mark Cloutier. It is intended that Mark Cloutier will also join the Board. In other changes, Non Executive Director Hans-Peter Gerhardt will chair the Board's Underwriting Committee. It is intended that Chief Financial Officer Scott Egan will also join the Board. Brit Insurance Chairman Nick Prettejohn will also become a Director of and chair Brit Insurance Limited and Brit Syndicates Limited, subject to FSA approval. Nick Prettejohn said "We are hugely grateful to Dane for the long and central role he has played in the growth of the company, most importantly as CEO. He has seen us effectively through the recent transition from the public markets to private ownership and we wish him well in his future career. Mark Cloutier is a highly experienced senior executive and together with the other appointments announced today, we have strengthened an already strong team. Against a background of sector losses, we achieved a profit in the first half of the year. We are now well positioned for the next phase in our development." Notes: Bios Mark Cloutier has over 35 years experience working in the International Insurance and Reinsurance sector and holds a number of Non Executive positions and has held a number of CEO and senior executive positions, including CEO of the Alea Group, CEO of Overseas Partner Re and President - E.W. Blanch Insurance Services Inc. He has worked with a variety of Private Equity investors including Kohlberg Kravis Roberts (KKR) and Fortress. Most recently Mark has been providing advice to the Brit Insurance management team in defining the future strategy for the Group.
