If this had nothing going for it, why would Myles McNulty invest in it ?

Check his Twitter page. He holds stock.

Aptamers have shown several advantages over antibodies in sandwich format assays. In this view, Kang et al., 2019 demonstrated a new SELEX method to select aptamers specific for influenza A viral nucleoprotein (InfA NP) that bound to the antibody – antigen complex in a sandwich form. The aptamers selected by this method allowed highly sensitive and accurate detection of the target virus without interference signals from viruses of other types, as confirmed by ELONA assay.

The aptamers showed the strongest binding affinity to InfA NP with the detection limit of 1.02 ng/mL, and the detection range was 1–300 ng/mL (Figure 2A). The ELONA assay also showed high signal intensity from the InfA NP sample as compared to the closely related target, InfB NP (Figure 2B). The visual detection limit of this method was five times greater than that of the colorimetric assay in a sandwich format using an antibody as a detecting agent.

At Aptamer Group Ltd, our scientists are continuously working to develop an aptamer binder selective for the spike protein in SARS CoV-2 which we expect to complete in 2-3 weeks time. Our aim is to work this into a point-of-use test for the detection of virus itself, and have a proof-of-concept in two months.

yep apfindley its embarrasing seeing you display your total ignorance and lack of basic research. The potential offering here is very different from anywhere else.

Of course, on the surface thats how it may appear. But try scratching under the surface.

Why can't people do some basic research and not just use their own established cynicism and prejudices.

apfindley behind the curve?

appreciate your view but just to clarify aptamer group are not using what everyone else is using they are using a new technology called aptamers which have many benefits over normal tests currently such as speed and accuracy and at home use

Paraytec.....a bit behind the curve here I think. By the time they even do anything with their zero funding....there are many companies with covid tests slready. This just smacks of 'let's release an rns mentioning we plan to look into the possibility that we may decided to see if we can develop a covid test oneday'.Total ramping nonsense to try and further push the already inflated braveheart price.

from L S E, look at this!

Looks like we will get more news over the coming days as the write up of the first foray into this test is published. The article below suggests that a fully functional test could be ready to manufacture in a week.

aptamer tech is potentially the best on the market when it comes to testing home application and very fast

I'd say 50/50 people taking profits v new buyers and people slicing v new buyers

Sort of buy the rumour sell the news...hence it's stuck in a tight range..does it break down to 40p or break through 50p ??

stocks - I think it may be the placing clearing through - it won't last long - the buying is here to stay - this has a very low share circulation akin to GDR. It will see big moves, just have to hang in there.

stocks - I would say at least 5. Would give a market cap of 50 million or thereabouts. Easily achievable when you look at other covid plays' market caps.

Paraytec are in discussions with Aptamer Group and the University of Sheffield to define a project to develop a COVID-19 test. If successful, this test would enable potentially infectious individuals to be identified quickly.

Such a test could be used in airports, transport hubs, healthcare environments, large workplaces and similar settings, where rapid screening of large numbers of people for presence of the virus is required. Using Paraytec's imaging capability in partnership with aptamers from Aptamer Group which bind to the spike protein on the virus, the objective is to develop a portable test, which can generate a result in a matter of minutes from a swab provided at the test location and require no specialist skills to be operated.

Kirkstall Limited ("Kirkstall") (holding 80.00%)

Kirkstall's Quasi-Vivo systems are being considered by Aptamer Group to provide a possible test bed for testing of aptamer based cancer therapeutics which they are developing.

Next step 50p

I've done my profit taking here, now got a 50k free ride leaving that to ride.

Having sold some flyers way too soon recently, these will be left unless they have a spectacular spike and a stop at 35p now
