05/7/2010 16:23 | After reading only a few pages, it seems clear that his "nil-points" assessment is based on the SLS being defined as not part of the normal BOE operations, notwithstanding that all UK banks , and many much earlier than BB., were using it as well as hundreds of EU banks with the ECB sls-equivalent. Clokey's call or HMG stitch-up by fixing the answer prior to the question? | zastas

05/7/2010 15:45 | From UKSA for those of sufficient professional knowledge and so motivated - Dear I am writing to all those who donated in response to our recent Shareholders Action Group appeal and have email addresses. First, let me thank you for your support, as these funds are essential to the pursuit of justice for all those who were deprived of their savings. As we now know, from Peter Clokey's report, we shall have to fight if we are to succeed. Second, I am pleased to tell you that the committee appointed by the board of the UK Shareholders' Association Ltd, under whose auspices this campaign began and continues, has a clear plan for the action that needs to be taken. As you would expect, this begins with a legal assessment of the report, in order to obtain advice on the next steps to be taken. Clearly this will need additional funds, so we shall shortly be sending out a further appeal, as many to whom we wrote did not respond on the previous occasion (although I'm pleased to say the response was very encouraging). The particular reason for this email, however, is to ask for volunteers to join the committee. I shall shortly be handing over to Richard Jennings, a substantial shareholder in B&B when it was nationalised. Richard is 37, a Chartered Financial Analyst and a past member of the Securities Institute, now living near Leeds and runs a property development partnership. He has a strong grasp of the technicalities of this matter and was responsible for 85% of the research and analysis that went into the 17 page submission to the valuer on behalf of the UKSA Shareholders Action Group. While there is no point in the committee being unduly large, both Richard and I would like to see the addition of perhaps another three or four from among you. You do not have to be especially knowledgeable, although legal and financial experience is always a good thing to have, as are such things as letter writing and other secretarial skills. What is important is to have a good body of representative shareholders with different backgrounds able to work together for the common good. It obviously helps if everyone is on email, which is why I am writing only to this group. With the use of email, a sharing of telephone numbers and the potential use of telephone conference facilities, it may never be necessary actually to meet. However, if there is a need, the campaign fund will meet reasonable travel expenses. Please do put yourself forward if you can. In case we have more volunteers than we can sensibly cope with, would you please be kind enough to tell us something about yourself, so that we can select (if necessary) the most representative group. I look forward to hearing from you. Yours sincerely, Eric Chalker Acting Chairman www.uksa.org.uk | skookum2

Let's hope its to the other side of the universe as he is going to need to be very far away with the heat he is going to get on his return. | skookum2

05/7/2010 15:18 | HMG is coming to confiscate my house, I hear. They will bulldoze it overnight, sell of the land for a peanut to Santander and then a certain Peter Clokey will be given 16 months to decide that my today-still-standing house had really no value today, not even a peanut. | zastas

05/7/2010 15:13 | Nobody but Clokey is to blame for this. We have largely patiently waited for him to take an unbelievable 16 months to do his bit. He promised to finish it by the end of June. None of thsi would have happened if he had kept his promise and stuck his assessment on the web at 23.59.59 on June 30th! | zastas
