Can’t see BOO surviving a high interest rate cycle and higher rates for longer. Also it’s a very poor management structure imo Chart signaling a death spiral, sucking in mug punters, ie. Gamblers & spivs with little investment understanding㊃8;🏻‍♀️㊃3;

Consumer spending will take another massive hit when the Bank of England raises the UK Base Rate again.

Low income families and middle income families (typically BOOHOO's target market) will be hit the hardest.

But it's not all bad news:

Our winning 6+5+4 CFD spread bets on rising global interest rates is looking even better now

Fed 6% + BoE 5% + ECB 4%

YOU could bet against us, if you want to TRY to take our money ???

ONLINE SHOPPING SALES FELL TO THEIR LOWEST LEVELS SINCE BEFORE COVID
=====================================================================

Although there was a huge increase in online shopping during the COVID pandemic, high inflation and the reopening of high street shops have curbed that trend.

In May, e-commerce sales DECREASED by 3.3% whereas high street retailers saw their in-store sales INCREASE by 1.0%

Worryingly for online clothing retailers, including BOOHOO, the fashion sector recorded its third consecutive month of bad results, with like-for-like sales down by 1.5% during May.

Sophie Michael, Head of Retail & Wholesale at BDO LLP warned:

“These numbers are extremely disappointing, with three Bank Holidays last month and the fact that high street footfall has increased compared to this time last year, these figures highlight the huge pressure on household spending.”

“The drop in online sales is stark, and it represents the worst online sales data on record, with the exception of those months impacted by COVID.”

Someone clearly has no idea about supply chain and costs. Asc sell already manufactured and branded clothes. This been through two -three layers of where profits need to be made. Boohoo on the other hand brand their own clothes for the most part this enjoy saving middle man costs which gives them pricing power and an edge over others when the sh1t hits the fan. Master Uk Neon BOY kiss kiss to you and your 5 self upticks ??

On a point of factual accuracy, Boohoo do NOT manufacture their own clothes.

Surely you remember Boohoo PLC ‘faced that modern day slavery investigation’ after the newspapers discovered garment makers in Leicester were being paid as little as £3.50 an hour.

Two weeks ago, The Times newspaper also revealed that Boohoo PLC was ripping off it's suppliers by deducting 10% off all invoices and underpaying on both delivered and undelivered clothing orders.

One unnamed Boohoo supplier told the newspaper: "This is major self-harm by Boohoo. They are struggling to find suppliers and now they are screwing the ones they have."

The one thing that is absolutely guaranteed and a nailed on certainty is that if ASOS has problems, BOOHOO will have EVEN BIGGER PROBLEMS !!!

ASOS SUPPLIERS CUT TIES AFTER CREDIT INSURERS REMOVE COVER.
===========================================================

Leading credit insurers have withdrawn or reduced cover for the retailer’s suppliers amid concerns over its tumbling profits, a move that could further squeeze its cashflow.

Allianz Trade, formerly Euler Hermes, withdrew cover entirely for ASOS suppliers last month, citing adverse economic conditions and the retailer’s finances. Atradius, another leading insurer, also has reduced cover.

ASOS’s suppliers began cutting their ties with the retailer after cover was withdrawn. “Lots of suppliers aren’t delivering as insurance has been lost,” one supplier said on condition of anonymity.

Credit insurance is a vital part of the retail supply chain, protecting suppliers against the risk of customers going bust between accepting an order and receiving payment. When cover is not available, suppliers often demand payment upfront, damaging a retailer’s cashflow.

Another supplier said he had stopped supplying ASOS in early 2023 “and we won’t supply them again until they get credit insurance backing. Credit insurance is so important these days and makes doing business not as risky. The only way [ASOS is] going to get people to supply to them again is to pay earlier — the drawback being that it eats into their cashflow.”

A third source, who supplies Topshop and Topman products to ASOS after it bought the brands out of the collapse of Arcadia in 2021, said he had been asked to supply ASOS own-label product as well, “which I obviously won’t do without credit insurance. Stock liabilities must be huge.”

You can NOT build a business based on "hopes and expectations" for an upturn in fortunes, and Boohoo comparing itself now to 3 years ago is idiotic.

You simply can NOT force people to spend money on new clothes.

Far too many people on this forum have lost all grip on reality.

Middle income and low income UK households are really struggling financially and with interest rates now increased to 4.5% (and likely to rise again) consumer spending will inevitably take another serious hit.

Boohoo shares should be AVOIDED

Bears gonna get trapped, I can see it. New short players following the noise from the scribblers will be left out of pocket when all of a sudden boo has a 20% up day. It's happened before in this same scenario. The louder the bears the more likely a turnaround in fortunes. The climate is ripe for boo to start to improve fundamentally, especially if the so called "market" can look forward 6 months and more.
