cheshire pete - I prefer if the company is not always in the media glare and subject to private investors whims. Overall the $/£ exchange rate must help them I think. Wish there were more companies like them. |
Linhur, Seen this many times with BOY over the years. Strong institutional support for this quality company but suspect only on the radar of relatively few private investors and this may be behind the lack of comment. Maybe some comment tomorrow from press / city pundits. |
Surprised no one has commented on the leap today in the share price. Increased concensus forecast of operating profit for current year of £133.1m and a range between £124.5 to £140m,
AGM was very positive with executive directors strongly managing a forward move on revenue and operating profit. |
advfntom - just wondering of you are the same 'Tom' who was (back in the early days of ADVFN) something in 'customer services' ??? |
Should go up soon as will be many jumping on board for the BIG Divi payment ! |
Will she, won't she break out of that pennant? If so, should be interesting........... |
Great results. Elephants don't gallop, so I'm still in. Should break £10 soon IMO. |
Yep, Lin, disappointingly wobbly! Still like it long term, tho'. |
Think we're on support line can anybody confirm |
nap
"what's not to like?"
7% drop from 950p to 880p this last month
Derating started. Perhaps cutbacks on auto production in Europe? |
Nice breakout, good fundies, new product, what's not to like?
IMO BOY's re-rating has started. £10 just the first stop. |
Telegraph tips #BOY. one of 5 stocks to be the next #FEVR. I Hold - |
Well the results were even sunnier than I expected;
"Bodycote achieved strong revenue growth in the first half, with good momentum in virtually all parts of the Group. Notably, the General Industrial business, which represents almost 40% of Group revenues, experienced a broad based recovery after over three years of decline. Automotive and Aerospace also moved ahead.
The growth strategy of bolt-on acquisitions and greenfield investment contributed 5.5% of the 8.3% constant currency growth. Investment in new projects has been stepped up.
The high margin Specialist Technologies continue to perform strongly and the margin expansion programme in European AGI is seeing further success.
The positive momentum achieved in the first half is expected to continue. While our business, by its nature, has limited forward visibility, the Board now expects the full year result to be towards the upper end of market expectations1." |
Rhomboid, good to see you here. I think you could be right. It all looks very promising. Just a little patience needed. |
I'm hoping that my purchase today will give me a stake in an entirely new high margin patent protected high growth powdered metallurgy tech business, hidden for now in a hi quality market leading industrial biz 🙂 |
Bought in today following Friday's update. Hopefully it might also add a little life to this board! |
and me! (= |
Well something has lit the blue touch paper. I sold too early. |
If I had bought at 516 - I would probably take some profit! I do wonder if they are vulnerable to a takeover - at least I hope so! |
Yes happy, especially as I bought at 516p, but the results don't look that surprising to me - have I missed something? Group revenue is only up due to exchange rates, and operating profit is up only because of last year's reorganisation charge. Both of those things have been well known for some time. I am taking profits, but good luck to all holders. |
Will we hold 750 today :)
no other happy punters? |
Will we hold 700 today?...... |
Almost back at my buying price! Up almost 20% in 2 months and seems to have gone through previous resistance.
I just wish I'd bought at 500 not 700!
Something brewing though. Could be a Sterling takeover target like Brammer (only there I lost 30% when they were finally put out of their misery - thank goodness for portfolio theory!) |
This is turning into an exciting ride. I can't see any special reason. Only recent news I found was that it has got highest level accreditation for Hot Isostatic Processing for aerospace industry, but as it won this before I don't imagine this is driving the price. Anyway I'm holding. |
So it seems - but let's wait a while. |
