i agree stegrego -

Another consideration why the eps next quarters will be more than $0.20 is because they implemented two price increases during q1 which would not have been fully reflected in the earnings.

a PE of 20 isnt much for a company thats potentially expanding 100% each year tho is it?

Flips - I guestimated the 30 cents subsequent quarters based on the phenomenal growth of the company and this statement in the q1 results stating that q1 is the slowest quarter.

'Although historically our first quarter is the
slowest quarter in a year, we achieved a robust gross margin of approximately
40%.'

'we continue to expect to achieve
substantial revenue growth as we move into our high volume second and third
quarters'

I am aware of the use of 2 currencies and used an exchange rate of 1.85 in making my calculations. I stated eps in £ because it was in response to a previous post that used £0.40 as the eps estimate.

Looking closely at these... Slightly confused by the likely PE. If they earn 20 cents a quarter, that amounts to 80 cents in the year (not of course allowing for improvements to the earnings) but your figures Miami, are quoted in sterling. Would it t be easier to stick to one currency or the other? However my main point is - isn't a current year PE of 20 a little rich for a company still to prove itself?
For the record, I am not deramping, but looking to buy in - I think the story an exciting one, but need some convincing.

Supersturrock. I think that they will earn more than 40p.

If earnings per share in their quietest quarter (excluding non cash warrant charges) were $0.20. (let's say average of $0.3 in next quarters with seasonal uplift and growth) I'd go for 60p for the year. A forward p/e of x13.3

Someone mentioned Deloitte & Touche way back as not being the company's auditor.
The statement is quite clear that D&T audit the accounts for the London market.

Quote: "Bodisen's UK reporting accountant: Deloitte & Touche"

Looking at this one seriously now. First blush estimate of 40p eps this year, PER of 20 - not outrageous considering Theo Walcott pace of growth. What diluted eps are you close followers going for ?

Given that the 'after hours' price in the US was $15 doesn't a 750p offer seem to be a bit of a bargain!

I got out too soon in anticipation of more bad news and lost a packet.
The good news for me is that all my mining stocks are up and losses have been recovered.
The bad news is that I will not benefit from any price rise in Bodisen. Serves me right for panicking.
Well done to you all who stayed the course.
All the best.

Bodisen bounces back after reassuring investors

Bodisen Biotech (BODI) had regained some of its value this morning after the China-based fertilizer company issued a statement in reaction to yesterday's share price drop. According to analysts, that fall appeared to have been originally caused, at least in part, by selling in the US as a result of erroneous comment there on Monday. Opening today at 620p, the shares had climbed 13% to 700p by 12.55pm.

"The company has not reported any fundamental changes to its business model or financial condition and expects to report its record first-quarter earnings for the period to 31 March 2006 before 16 May," stated the Aim-listed group. "In its trading update of 18 April 2006, the company reaffirmed it will meet its 2006 market expectations."

The group issued a sequence of trading updates in April, noted Peter Ashworth, an analyst at Charles Stanley, adding: "On 26 April it announced it had signed a total of some $2.4m [£1.3m] of new contracts with various new and existing distributors for delivery in 2006. In April, the group also previewed first-quarter 2006 results and sees a significant increase in sales in 2006. It has experienced strong sales growth in the quarter and expects to build upon this growth in the second and third quarters, which are typically its strongest quarters."

In its guidance for 2006, Bodisen anticipated strong year-on-year revenue and earnings growth. "In November 2005 it received $43m of orders at two key industry trade shows, which it believes could represent some 70% of its expected annual sales at a target net margin of approximately 30%," said Ashworth. "The group also believes the added manufacturing capacity could potentially double the company's sales in 2007 compared to 2006." Charles Stanley, of which Bodisen is a corporate client, reiterated its Buy recommendation on the company.

Bodisen Biotech Inc. Issues Statement Regarding Recent Events
5/3/2006 9:43:00 AM EST
BIOWIRE

Bodisen Biotech, Inc., (AMEX:BBC; LSE:BODI; website: www.bodisen.com) the first China based environmentally friendly bio fertilizer company listed on a US stock exchange, and dually listed in London, today issued a statement regarding recent events involving the posting of unauthorized and inaccurate information on a company-owned website.

On April 15, 2006, unauthorized information was posted by an employee on a Bodisen-owned website that contained two false news pieces stating that (1) the company's CEO and Chairman Karen Qiong Wang was seriously ill and resigning from her position and (2) that road construction in front of the company's older facility would seriously impact the company's 2006 revenue and earnings guidance. The company has taken action to prevent unauthorized information from being disseminated in the future.

Subsequently, this erroneous information was used by an equity analyst in a report issued on the company.

Following the posting of this erroneous information, the company has disclosed the following factual statements:

-- On April 18, 2006, the company stated that CEO and Chairman Karen Qiong Wang was taking temporary sick leave to undergo a routine medical check-up procedure, following surgery that was performed at the end of 2005. Subsequently and as stated in a news release issued on April 26, 2006, Ms. Wang has returned to her duty after a routine medical check up. At no time preceding or during her temporary medical leave was there any discussion of Ms. Wang resigning from her position. Ms. Wang is the CEO and Chairman of Bodisen Biotech, Inc.

-- On April 18, 2006, the company issued a news release stating that road construction had begun in front of the main entrance to the company's older production facility and was expected to last for several months. The company also stated that construction was not expected to affect Bodisen's product inventory and shipment operations and reaffirmed its 2006 sales and earnings guidance. Again, the company expects no material impact to its financial performance as a result of the current road construction.

The erroneous information has been removed from the website. Bodisen's official website is www.bodisen.com, which contains the latest information on the company.

Without wanting to sound too dramatic about it, it does seem that somebody is 'out to get' Bodisen in the US. The latest news states that it was in fact a Bodisen employee who posted the misleading 'unauthorized' information on a Bodisen-owned website (I think this is an old website in Chinese which is no longer used for marketing). The last time I tried to look at this website it had been taken off-line, indicating that some action has been taken.

Bodisen Biotech Inc.: Chinese Fertilizer Company's honeymoon on AIM, NYSE hits a bump
The 28th of March was a big day for Bodisen Biotech.

The company's maiden results since initiating a primary listing in New York and a secondary listing in London were closely watched by many pundits on both sides of the Atlantic to see how the fertiliser company faired. Compared to 2004, revenues grew 91% to USD $31 million and net income was up 75% to USD $8.8 million.

The order book for 2006 is already greater than 2005 and the company also received an additional 2 year leave from paying Income Tax. Also during 2005, Bodisen successfully doubled it's organic fertiliser capacity and also acquired a strategic stake in China Natural Gas Company (OTCBB: CHNG).

Dear Sirs

I'm a shareholder on the AIM listing (BODI).

Can you please explain why the April news releases have been removed from
the company's website. As a respectable long investor, this kind of
'messing about' concerns me, as it hits of conflict/politics as opposed to
the much needed consistency/transparency.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Yours faithfully

There is always a reason for the share price to move. As far as record year or quarters , the market has heard of this many times, yet the share price kept on slipping since flotation. Strange, don't you think.
You are obviously a holder and naturally a bull of the stock. Hope it all works out.

I have lost a packet today, but one must be positive.
I expect to recover my loss via my investments in Centrica, BG. Corus and some mining stocks.
If I don't I will need Imodium rather than Andrews.

Jonwig - Thanks for your concern. All my fault for wearing these rose-tinted specs. Never mind, onward and upward.
