As usual HL are last to the party by the sound of it? Although I'm guessing I should assume I got 40% of what I asked for?

Yws....I also got 40%.....with the unallocated cash back in my ii account.

However, they show in my account, but I can not trade them.

Surprised that there was no RNS from BSIF about the allocation being 40%

Let's be glad that there was demand for the shares

At least it means I have extra cash to invest somewhere else now

40% allocation is poor a shame that existing shareholders did not receive an entitlement with the issue!

The new shares start trading today.

Doesn't look like I'm getting all the shares that I applied for from what I can see on ii's website.

Only guessing but I would imagine they would have only scaled back the placing, which accounted for the vast majority of £150 million raised.

They are saying the issue has been scaled back.....I can not see by how much.

No, tournesol, they are not. Mostly this is down to the PPAs they have in place where they have sold the electricity forward at a fixed price. Remember also that BSIF is a fund which owns a number of solar farms all of which are separate businesses in their own right-

You will have to read the Annual Report to see where they make their profits.

Seems to me that BSIF is not making the same kind of extraordinary and unexpected profits that the oil cos are. What's BSIFs current profit margins?

They will have some explaining to do if they do a WT on green energy such as BF .
It sends all the wrong messages and gives little incentive to invest in green energy over oil and gas if they are not going to treat it slightly better when it comes to things like this.
Also why invest in esg if esg don’t benefit from the transition and they just get WT whenever someone feels like it.

I put in a big subscription enough to double my holding. Still seems like a good long term bet to me. I'd be amazed if the windfall tax is applied here.

I respect BSIF for giving investors the opportunity to reconsider subscribing given a potential windfall tax threat. I have subscribed and hope the company does well with the fund raise, it deserves to imho.

Need to be sharp though and call them tomorrow morning, if you wish to do so.

Windfall tax is blatant theft of shareholder funds and has a major impact on income investors imho

The logic would be - need to put a windfall on oil and gas - lots of Tories hate this ideologically - but the ERG head bangers really hard renewables so put some tax on them to appease There's a political if not an economic logic to it Times reporting that electricity generators unlikely to be covered by the windfall tax as too complicated So looking hopeful that there's either zero hit or a small one that can be mitigated by increased investment in the UK
