re orange5 - 8 Jan'09 - 21:21 - 118 of 121

Thank you Greg, but why was there such a difference in the selling price and the buying price, can you please explain to me? Thanks.

yes the spread seems to start wide and close in the day.

The whole market is a lotery at the moment.
I think more forced sellers are going to happen if the dow stays under 8000.

re bbay there has been a lot of interest in corp debt so next results might be good...........mmm

risk:reward as always. ;O)
The problem as you say is to hold on.
One of my favorite sayings that I read was.
"The big money is always made doin the sittin and waiting"

what you say makes sense, would also be to nice see some sizable director buying at some point - not sure if possible now with results mid Feb but given salaries these guys are paid it should happen if meaningful recovery is underway - then when/if good times return the potential multiple this business could trade on might prove highly rewarding providing we can resist the temptation to sell out on the way.

As i see it they specialize in corporate debt.
The margins were so big recently that some liquidated shares to buy debt.
BBAY should of been in the front of the queue.
If they played this right and the world does not implode their earnings might see record highs at some point in the future.
Still a risk as we dont know.

just what i was thinking - would be nice to see div held and results reassure on aum/performance before comitting too much - that said the two forecasts i can see via TDW seem to think a small cut in div on the cards to c. 7.5p To my mind its most sensible if they will hold div at 8p or even up it marginally to send out a positive message. Not as if it wont be covered by forecasted earnings. Not that long ago this was 500p. Ok a different world now but this could still race back into 200-300p range over next couple of years if they deliver a recovery and pull in funds as they suggest they will.

Still a potential massive recovery.
