How much do you think she earns?!?! Net income of somewhere around £30m....so adding 0.01x to the multiple would probably cover her salary!!!

Pleased that the board/CEO have recognised that their outwardly/investor facing capabilities needed improving either way. They don't get full value for the story/metrics

Good to see a Hear of IR appointed. BMY performs well though it I dont think its as investor friendly as it could be, and therefore share price probably not reflecting the true value of the company. Not sure its RNS-worthy mind you!

The company believe that AI isn't a threat to their business, though of course most companies will say that. Its a topic which I'd imagine would be repeated on further investor calls though so won't go unanswered.

I'm more interested in what their plans are for their cash pile...

So yes, would refer boring to someone shady. I should have said 'reduces' the offer of a PE bid. Ideally a fund would want a CEO who has a degree of vision, someone who inspires, someone who can sell the company and its qualities to customers, someone who gives you confidence that they're going to exploit growth opportunities which are available etc. The current CEO is none of those.

That said, the BMY team have done a very good job improving margins and returns. In that respect, I'd class them as an operational team and they're not necessarily a negative to the investment case but you wouldnt invest in the company as a result of them.

Anyway, the CEO is 67 so will be interesting to see if another person in the management team starts to get put in front of investors to suggest a succession plan in place.

I'm on this investor call at the moment. I like management teams which under-promise and over-deliver but jeez the CEO and CFO of BMY are as un-showy and dull as you could possibly imagine!

Upside is that it probably brings a low risk culture but I do wonder whether it turns some investors off. Would certainly prevent a private-equity offer for the company

pre exceptional is what I look at, some investors like Terry Smith say if
there are frequent exceptional charges it's not always a positive indicator.

But many companies now have frequent cost cutting and efficiency programs pretty
much ongoing.

Not sure how it works but maybe Bloomsbury has sounded out its big investors about a large takeover, and a rights issue is coming? Because the share price is not going up as it should be with the results.

Their Investors Meet Company presentation started at 11am I believe......guess some details about their interims wasn't taken too well by the market?

Regarding the 30% margin target which they mentioned, how do people interpret that? EBIT or EBITDA?

If its EBIT then they're either going to have to substantially increase gross margins (e.g. by over 10 % points) or hold overhaeds flat for 5 years

I like to see companies communicate long-term targets as it at least given an investor some clue on how maagement are thinking...welcome any views on the interpretation of the 30%
