Rewatched the videos. As said yesterday. Quite a significant gas flare. Looks like it's just a case of how much gas is coming with th oil, not if it's coming..

Just remember that production rate is seldom related to test rate because they have completely different aims - in the latter you are trying to establish deliverability of the reservoir, examine potential compartmentalisation, check for contaminants in the fluid composition, whereas in the former you are trying to balance return on investments versus long term production management.

In this case, if production rate is delivered into the well predominantly through fractures, the flow rate from the matrix into the fractures has to match the take off production rate. In the longer term, annual decline rate was estimated by Gustavson (based on simulation rather than observation) to be 29%.

As a result, normally production rate is lower than test rate, although it's noted here that test rate was constrained by facilities, and the unconstrained rate was 30% higher.

Nonetheless, it would be prudent, if you're investing for more than a couple of hours, to base cash flow estimates on a lower rate than the test.

Yes. So fcf occurs at 110 bopd with oil at 60 usd. So at 70 it will be around 90. They are producing 1,100 bopd now from one well in one reservoir with oil and gas shows detected in the upper reservoir as well. The more you look at this the more compelling it becomes. It looks like they have literally struck gold here. Some profit talking occurred today but the bottom line is at 15m this remains an absolute bargain. 6p will seem like a steal in days to come. Buy and hold. Expecting a strong start again tomorrow.

Source: TradingView Past performance is not a guide to future performance Block Energy is up a massive 85% today Block Energy's well 16a at the West Rustavi field in the Republic of Georgia has delivered a test flow rate of an average 1,100 barrels per day (bpd), more than three times the estimated target production rate of 325bpd. That's better than any well drilled in Georgia for 50 years! Block currently has a 71.5% working interest in West Rustavi, which is in the heart of the prolific Kura basin next to the largest historical producing field in Georgia. It secured an agreement in February to take that up to 100%. Today's result is exciting because this field contains an estimated 38 million barrels of gross contingent resources (2C) of oil. Block also holds legacy gas discoveries supporting a gross contingent (2C) resource of 608 billion cubic feet.Block chief executive Paul Haywood said: "Management will now digest this extraordinary result and crystalise a development strategy beyond that already outlined to the market on Well 38. This is truly an exciting time for Block Energy, and we look forward to updating the market shortly."Block Energy only listed on the AIM market in June 2018, raising £5 million via an oversubscribed placing at 4p a share. After closing at 3.9p on Friday, the share price peaked today at 7.2p, a new high, valuing the business at almost £20 million.

Invested today as previous RNS is key. They announced $4.5m free cash flow on the estimate of 325 bopd and some other bits and pieces. Therefore a flow rate in the order of 1100 bopd will generate a conservative free flow in excess of $10.0m and teh company has a market value of £18m !!

Surely this is a no brainer ?

My take from lse...So the well was completed in the middle Eocene formation... And achieved these spectacular results.... They have not looked at the upper formation yet (based on my read) and there are oil shows there as well!?SO at 325 bopd its a 6 month payback with oil @ 60 USDSo @ 1,100 bopd and oil @70 USD, could we be looking at 6 weeks? The FCF of this well could be phenomenal... And as others have commented, the gas has not been tested yet either... It looks to me like this field, with modern drilling techniques could be an outstanding asset, and worth just over 15m quid ? I think not...However, below is the previous RNS (20th)· Follow-on West Rustavi candidate well 38, in close proximity to 16a, is primed for sidetrack operations subject to 16a resultsBlock Energy Plc, the exploration and production company focused on the Republic of Georgia, is pleased to report that Total Drilled Depth ('TDD') has been reached at well 16a ('16a' or 'the well') at its West Rustavi field ('West Rustavi') after the successful completion of horizontal sidetracking operations.A TDD of 2,659 metres was reached after the well was re-entered and cleaned, a whipstock positioned at 1,932 metres below the ground, a build section drilled 205 metres into the top of the targeted Middle Eocene, and a further 522 metres (some 100 metres more than the original plan) drilled horizontally into the formation's reservoir.Hydrocarbon readings derived from field interpretation of drill cuttings (taken in five metre intervals) and live oil shows on the shale shaker unit and frequent spikes in gas readings provide strong indications that the expected naturally fractured hydrocarbon reservoir Middle Eocene formation was entered, and that the entire horizontal section was drilled within it.The Company is aiming for a gross initial flow rate of 325 bopd at the well, which would generate a free cash flow of approximately USD 3.6m and payback well costs in less than six months (assuming a price of USD 60/bbl Brent). Well 16a produced some 35 Mbbls when first on production during the Soviet era. According to Gustavson Associates (Source: CPR dated 1 January 2018) West Rustavi's Middle Eocene reservoir holds 21 MMbbls of ('2C') contingent resources.Significant oil and gas shows were also seen during the drilling of the Upper Eocene build section. The Company has logged this section of the well, and inititial interpretation indicates oil saturated sands, based on Spectrum Gamma Ray logs and mud logs. Gustavson Associates (Source: CPR) estimate this formation holds 12 MMbbls of gross contingent ('2C') resources, and a report by Georgia Oil and Gas ('GOG') notes that the Upper Eocene formation in the neighbouring Ninotsminda and Samgori fields, operated by the Kura Basin Operating Company ('KBOC') and Schlumberger respectively, has produced approximately 1.5 MMbbls.

Greg,

Apparently they tested one of the other wells at 0.9mmcfd. 16a flare looks quite good from what you can see of it and you can hear it gently roar while he's talking.

Ed.

From proactive 20/03 you read the below then read what they found in rns today, puts things in perspective with well 38 to go and the gas. "The group aims to increase Block's gross production by 325 barrels of oil per day, which would correspond to an additional free cash flow of some US$3.6mln a year. Now, the company will also move on to the next sidetrack candidate – it said it has primed the nearby Well 38 for the next programme.Block noted that it is advancing the sidetrack campaign at West Rustavi in parallel with its ongoing multi-well workover programme at its Norio field, where it is incrementally increasing output from existing wells. It recently announced that production from Norio had increased four-fold to 60 bopd, and, as operations continue it is moving towards the company's breakeven production marker of 100 bopd.'Critical Milestone'Chief executive Paul Haywood described the West Rustavi well target of 325 bopd, as a "critical milestone" and said that the project presents "company-making potential"."Achieving our forecast of a 325 bopd production rate at 16a would move the company well above its corporate production breakeven rate, generating total free cash flow (including both Norio and West Rustavi) of USD 4.5m per annum at USD 60/bbl Brent," Haywood said."We also look forward to appraising West Rustavi's legacy gas discovery."

Toogood,

Yes apparently its primed and ready for sidetracking depending upon results of 16a. Gonna be an interesting few weeks and months as they make progress on these wells. Also apparently multiple other wells for both oil and gas potential for sidetracking too.

Regards,
Ed.
