Most certainly 16a will have booked some new 2P. There's no contingencies left on a well that's completed and tied into production. Its performance over time will determine the ultimate recoverable. But they'll be getting lots of info from the test production at various choke sizes, the PTA and the eventual IP rates. That'll all contribute to the 2P associated per well. Depending on reservoir response and drainage area and their 2D model could be as high as several mmbbls per well. It'll all depend on well performance and established production profile per well. But certainly I'd expect 2P booked from this well. How much better it'll perform above the CPR remains to be seen, it has done on test, and how that is sustained over the next 6 months of production will give them a better idea. If they can replicate this result over the next few wells there may also be an upgrade to the contingent. I guess the 38mmbbls they refer to is the mean anyway I guess rather than top end.

There's gas and there's gas. The gas that comes off with the oil, shown on twitter, which they've been flaring on a temporary permit, is currently a nuisance by itself, because there's not enough to justify a pipeline but it has to be handled in an environmentally-responsible way.

The non-associated gas that has been tested in old wells, from a different older rock formation, is called contingent resources because it needs further appraisal before it can be considered commercial. The good news is that if it is, then the associated gas from the oil can also be sold

Like all of BLOE's assets, there's a fair degree of de-risking to be done before any success, but looks like they've achieved plan or better with the oil at both fields to date, so hopefully the track record will continue

Paul Hayward (BLOE):

"The opportunity for us in West Rustavi is huge. We are now 100pc in over 600bcf of 2C gas resources.

To put things into perspective, the assets that our new ventures team are looking at plays are 100-150bcf at a capex of $160m. We are based onshore in Georgia, and we are getting these wells down for $4-$5m with netbacks of c.$2-2.5/mcf.

If you run that over an unrisked 600bcf resource, then you are looking at a project value of about $1.2bn."

Well 38 have been cleaned out - presumably by workover rig ready for drill rig from 16a.
