22/2/2015 08:29 | Quil ... actually, 8:24am on the Thailand seaboard and Digi is the last person on my mind. The comments were directed at your 'new best friend' Geh2, who you called 'the Gimp' when you utilisied your 'bearish' Kendonagaski guise. Now that the share price tide has turned for Blinkx you have reverted to your 'bullish' "more Tea Vicar?" Quilarvium avatar. Dr Freud would have loved a 'couch-session' with you my strange friend! I suspect should the Board of Blinkx fail to deliver a stellar trading update your alter ego Kendo will re-appear with a vengeance. Poor Kendo, sitting in a rocking chair in the attic wearing his dearly departed old Ma's clothes. He'll be back! | ![]() alex1621

21/2/2015 11:48 | Q Good post, I expected the likes of RF will run out of time and money chasing growth as you say Blinkx has the upper hand. Industry consolidation is to be expected. | ![]() nickb

21/2/2015 11:13 | Quilarvium, I have no idea how much we do, and what earnings are generated from, our link with the BBC. I remember that Conference Call and there was nothing to suggest that the 10% client was the BBC. Bearing in mind that Blinkx do not announce the termination of any partnerships how do you know that the 10% client is still contributing? Do you have some information that the rest of us aren't privy to or are you speculating? | becky sharpe
21/2/2015 11:07 | Cheers 1gw, of course RF cannot keep growing at 100% forever, not sure that we had a great Q4 last year anyway (our Q3 I think) and the acquisition of Rhythm in Dec changed everything for us - are RF strong on mobile? So I don't know if there is a huge read across for me, but of course that is what I would want to believe. It will be fascinating to see if RF can get to profits and what slowing growth will do to their ratings in the US. If they don't start making money soon they are toast I reckon, though I haven't calculated their cash burn. Officer Turner please keep us updated on progress with your investigations. You might be right about PIs on the Xcite board having been played. | ![]() gowlane
21/2/2015 10:26 | Just finished listening to the rocket fuel conference call on their web site.It appears that growth is indeed vanity for them and they are going to focus on profit. They along with other competitors are all going to have to chase premium interactions and conversions to have a chance to stay in the game. This is where BLNX have the huge advantage and upper hand.We have spent the last 12 months already restructuring ahead of the competition, were leaner on head count, CORE gives us the competitive edge and we have a premium game palm that is already on track and delivering results. As soon as results are announced I would not be surprised if a hostile bid comes much sooner than later.Ladies and gentleman we lead the field! | ![]() quilarvium
20/2/2015 23:33 | Becky, you know exactly how much we do for BBC?We have still the same client that wishes to remain anonymous under our agreement that contributed 10% two years ago. That same client still remains in place and as does the confidentiality agreement between them.Who ever that may be? | ![]() quilarvium
20/2/2015 21:55 | Rocket Fuel conference call. I caught up with this today. They were panned in some parts for their inability to give guidance. Jim Cramer was quoted as saying the call was "just miserable" and that "Management had very little visibility into its business, which is never a good sign". What Rocket Fuel did say was that they are now going to start focusing more on profitability (and less on explosive growth) after their 109% CAGR over the last few years (2008-14 I think). "A new challenge for the executive team, achieving meaningful progress towards profitability..." The other point of note, which may have implications for blinkx' Oct-Dec quarter was that they said the previous year's unexpectedly high volumes in 4Q did not re-occur in 2014. Responding to a question on why the quarter's revenues came in below the mid-point of the guidance they said: "On Q4, I think with our guidance range what we're trying to do is cover a possibility where we saw some upside surprises we had in Q4 of the prior-year. And I think for us and some other media companies that sort of Q4 or holiday time surprise didn’t really materialize in a meaningful ways that have the prior year." Conference call transcript is available from Seeking Alpha: | ![]() 1gw |
