Two points made in that article are interesting and positive for the innovative participants in the fish/salmon farming business. Firstly, salmon feed conversion rate seems incredible at just under 1.5 units of feed per unit of fish weight. That compares with a rate of over 8 for beef, 6 for pork, and 2 for chicken. Secondly, the fish farming industry is very young in comparison to land based farming of beef, chicken. Hence innovative participants in fish farming are likely to see much more rapid growth opportunities than companies like Genus.

If you have not seen it look at the RNS from Friday night.


This is a good deal, they have come from nowhere to be the second biggest salmon egg producer. The biggest is so upset that they tried to derail it by buying stock in Stofnfiskur hence the minorities in the pro forma numbers.
I met the management 10 days ago and have taken stock in the placing which was oversubscribed and has a number of new high quality shareholders on the list.
It all ties in well with what they are trying to build long term and that's a world class aquaculture business.

Certainly more buying interest coming in again.

Large volume the other day was most likely the overhang (which had been holding price back) clearing.

SCSW very keen on the shares. Sept edition concludes: "At some point in the not too distant future, these shares are set to catch fire. Buy for that."

For the time being the share price is clearly being managed at 85p on the offer side.A number of institutions who bought in at the original placement price of 64p are gradually taking a modicum of profit;nothing wrong there.In due course this selling will be absorbed as the potentially exciting newsflow unfolds.At that stage the share price could move quite materially as the market as a whole begins to appreciate the attractions and very considerable potential of this amazing company.

It's only a matter of time the MM's lift the lid on this one, have a look at the considerable amount of buys on the ASK from last week to now, all on 85p.
