Half year report

Beeks Financial Cloud Profit Doubles In First Results Since London IPO
LONDON (Alliance News) - Newly-listed Beeks Financial Cloud Group PLC said Thursday it has had record results in its first half, matching board expectations, with the company confident of continued growth in the rest of its year.

Beeks, which completed a GBP4.5 million initial public offering on London's AIM market in November, posted a 40% increase in revenue for the six months to December to GBP2.6 million from GBP1.8 million.

Its pretax loss narrowed slightly in the period to GBP106,000 from GBP180,000. However, excluding IPO costs and amortisation of acquired intangibles, Beeks made an underlying pretax profit of GBP280,000, more than double the same period the year before's GBP130,000.

Margins improved across the board, Beeks said, driving the sharp increase in earnings.

Beeks had net cash of GBP2.6 million at the end of December, compared to net debt of GBP680,000 the same time a year previous.

Chief Executive Gordon McArthur said: "Our business opportunities remain strong going into the start of the second half of the year as we see continued momentum to our infrastructure as a service model. We are confident the business will continue to grow. We will roll out more cloud hosting and have a strategic focus on Asia over the near term. The formation of our Chinese entity and offering is progressing well. We are investing in our sales team to exploit and drive our business forward.

"With an established and growing customer base, high levels of recurring revenue and strong market drivers, we are confident in delivering a successful outcome for the year."

Beeks shares were down 4.7% on Thursday at 61.96 pence each.

Believe that the future is bright here. Already cash generative with a few million in the bank.

Fast growing business with lots of positive already since listing and i'm sure still more to come over the coming months. Roll on end year trading update..

An 18% price retracement over the past 4 weeks but on daily trading volumes that are approximately 25% below average. No news other than the positive Singapore announcement last week so it looks like a bit of profit taking has occurred.

Another brick in the wall ! :o)

Glasgow, June 26, 2018 -- Beeks Financial Cloud Group Plc, a cloud computing and connectivity provider for financial markets, is pleased to announce the addition of Singapore as a new datacentre location. Beeks has taken space within Singapore Exchange's (SGX) own colocation facility in order to provide cloud and hosting services. This is Beeks' first point of presence in Singapore and provides Beeks' clients with greater access to Asian markets. SGX is Asia's most international, multi-asset exchange, therefore Beeks' space within SGX's colocation facility will allow its customers access to a wide range of trading and market data within equities, fixed income and derivatives asset classes. With direct fibre connectivity to Beeks' Tokyo, Hong Kong and London datacentres, this new location will act as a hub for customers looking for ultra-low latency connectivity options.

Thanks for the updates on numbers. Bought in a couple of weeks back on the brief period of weakness.

I'm hoping forecasts turn out to be slightly irrelevant as it feels like numbers will be upgraded then uprgages on the upgrades etc as strategy unfolds.

Jombaston - got to be one of the most compelling investment cases I have heard for a while. To answer your question no I don't think you are missing something numbers wise. I think they will have no option but to get into equity markets before too long which will ramp their cost base but that aside this is a great story.

I only got round to buying this today after meeting Gordon McArthur at Mello. Apart from understanding what Beeks do, which you can see in the presentation, it is important to understand that the financials don't reflect where Beeks have already got to.

If you were to look at Stockopedia you might think they were loss-making. However, 2017 includes IPO costs as will 2018 (to a lesser extent). The revenue run rate was already at £6m by the end of December and is on target to be £7.2m by end-June and £8.4m by the end of this calendar year if the growth rate continues. The run rate is relevant because 95% of revenue is recurring.

As for profits I believe the 2018E for EBITDA is £1.8m but would be up to a run-rate of £2.2-2.4m by June and I'm not sure for year-end but operational leverage should be kicking in quite nicely as the business scales up.

Am i missing something? This still looks good value versus the potential growth.

Please DYOR and check my numbers - I don't have the Cenkos report and I am new to this company.
