03/5/2018 09:35 | Avon Rubber has been a good business for shareholders in the past decade. Over that period, the share price must have risen close to 3,000%! And the company appears to be fairly valued. Avon’s dividend yield is below 1% and due to rising valuation and management adopting a cautious dividend policy. Management is building up their cash reserves which will support the valuation. However, earnings growth, especially EPS will grow by less than 5% p.a. and this means on Avon’s PE multiple of 20 times value on the high side. Avon shares could rise further if the sector rises. Realistically, in the medium term, investors should wait for a lower valuation of around £330m-£3 For more on Avon, Accsys and Sage, click: | walbrock82
02/5/2018 17:59 | RE previous comments on the divi, (see #645-651), nice uplift but still very modest in relation to eps, meanwhile the cash pile builds up in the bank. C'mon AVON, give us a Special Divi (or increase the payout rate). | jeffian
02/5/2018 09:15 | Two notes out today Edison Avon Rubber’s H118 report demonstrates the strength of the group’s new strategy in action. Success is evident in the enhanced product portfolio and order progression is building visibility and supporting medium-term growth. Given the group’s exposure to the US, the FX headwind was visible in H118. Management maintained its guidance for FY18 underpinned by end market opportunities and new product deliveries. 04/4/2018 08:46 | from Citywire Avon Rubber sale gives M&A firepower, says Jefferies Avon Rubber (AVON) has sold its subsidiary Avon Engineering Fabrications, which Jefferies says strategically ‘makes a lot of sense’ and increases the scope for mergers and acquisitions (M&A). Analyst Andy Douglas reiterated his ‘buy’ recommendation and target price of £14.05 on the stock, which rose 2.4% to £13 yesterday. ‘Avon Rubber has announced the disposal of its Avon Engineering Fabrications business for $9.3 million,’ he said. ‘The future of this business has been up for debate for a while and strategically, makes a lot of sense. The disposal further increases management’s balance sheet firepower, which we expect to drive M&A over time.’ Douglas added that the sale was ‘a sensible tidying of the group’s portfolio’. | robow

18/1/2018 17:52 | But the key word there is "translational" (that is, the effect of converting $ earnings to £ for statutory reporting purposes). As long as both costs and revenues are incurred in the same currency and cash profits are not actually converted to £ and returned to UK, then profitability is unaffected. | jeffian
18/1/2018 17:17 | Would be careful of the currency impact here. The latest annual accounts state 'The Group has translational exposure arising on the consolidation of overseas company results into Sterling. Based on the current mix of currency denominated profit, a five cents appreciation of the US Dollar increases revenue by approximately £5.0m and operating profit by approximately £0.7m. A five cents appreciation of the Euro increases revenue by approximately £0.5m and operating profit by approximately £0.1m.' The dollar has fallen by about 5c since the end of the previous financial year implying a £5m revenue headwind and a £0.7m hit to the bottom line. | mammyoko
