13/7/2004 21:38 | My guess is that price movements are being accentuated by extremely low volume and MM's taking the opportunity to maybe frighten weak holders.I think there was a drop before the 3rd quarter results as well. The interest on this thread in the last few days seems to be tracking what's happening with the shares, but then it's all been said, and we wait on the expected good news, fingers crossed. | ![]() corrientes
13/7/2004 17:45 | It's the rainy season, gold is tanking, biswell is long, muppet stopped ramping, it's overbought, there is no gold, er....I give up. Why? | ![]() ohojim
13/7/2004 16:26 | Peculiar markdown on very low volume. I wonder why ? Two guesses. | ![]() corrientes

12/7/2004 08:12 | Jeddah, Who cares? Do you want me to pretend I am really upset react and burst into floods of tears? Just wondering! Ice (blubbing) | ![]() theberg
11/7/2004 21:59 | God knows, Jeddah. Haven't you realised there are more important things in life, such as who the hell is Leonard Peltier and why should we give a toss what he says? :-) Don't tell us, please, berg: there's only so much excitement I can take. | diogenesj
11/7/2004 21:37 | Yawn.... So who thinks AVM is going to go up next week? | jeddah jo
11/7/2004 20:15 | Ignoring Corrientes rudeness because some things are more important than money and:- Never cease in the fight for peace, justice, and equality for all people. Be persistant in all that you do and don't allow anyone to sway you from your conscience. ---Leonard Peltier | ![]() theberg
11/7/2004 13:33 | Basically talks about NEM's potential as it is unhedged. NEM chairman reiterated his long term optimism for gold, comparing today with the 1970's scenario when gold was in a bull market (and when the US$ was in a bear market)).He believes gold will trade in a band of $380-$450 this year. | ![]() corrientes
11/7/2004 11:58 | What does the article say ? | holdontight
11/7/2004 11:25 | Big article in the Business today on Newmont and gold. Looks like perhaps gold is returning to the spotlight. | mieke
11/7/2004 00:16 | The old addage "Sell in May and go way"has proven itself correct this year, and many of the tiddlers that saw multi percentage gains have been viciously sold off. The biggest problem has been the massive amount of speculators that have bought shares on margin, ie CFD`s,and we have seen some spectacular manipulation regards short sellers that have known that situation and have used it to devastate some shares. What concerns me is the fact that some working inside the big CFD cos are privvy to such information,ie the percentage of clients running big situations in risky stocks with stop losses.I am convinced that along with the debate of Naked shorting, there will be scandals connected to insiders within the CFD cos passing such statistics outside. However..........AVM We have held up remarkably considering the turmoil, and that shows the underlying belief in the under-valuation and potential strength of the stock. and hopefully have the best period to come for those that have a longer term view than a T25. One day I`ll be out of Gold and move on,but that is not going to be for some time to come,as whilst the US Dollar will remain the supreme world currency for some decades to come, albeit with periods of lower valuation, there is only one other long term currency at the moment.....Gold. Ill partly be glad to be away so I can avoid the flood of hooray Henrys that are going to visit this board whilst they attempt to ramp up their T+ trades. Maybe well even get the attention of Michael Minmet Walters who would at least value the shares at £4.00 which would be quite welcome compared to Evolution who had better start taking care of its Clients,if they wish to survive with that huge MKT cap. | ![]() richgit
10/7/2004 19:59 | Then shut the f up on this thread. | ![]() corrientes
10/7/2004 18:53 | No not particularly. | ![]() theberg
10/7/2004 16:15 | theberg - Well as to stockpicking ability, its got to be better than yours since you don't even seem to be able to distinguish a stock thread from a political one, but then again I've never seen you make a comment about any stock so I don't know what your game is. Maybe you'd like to comment on AVM with results pending since this is an AVM thread ? | ![]() corrientes
10/7/2004 14:30 | Corrientes, That just shows how little research you do and how few books you read. One hopes you research your stockmarket positions more thoroughly than your political and macro world views. Somehow I doubt it. It does not take a rocket scientist to work out control of the media globally is in very few hands, ie information is controlled. Somehow however I doubt you are a rocket scientist mind you. 10/7/2004 14:13 | All these conspiracy theories are of the same magnitude as giving a monkey an infinite amount of time and it'll eventually end up writing Shakespeare. You can make any 'fit' you like for any given set of circumstances, but that would be very boring. With this non-AVM talk recently,on a relatively quiet board after all the fundamentals have been chewed over and spat out, and the excitement bit having gone, probably means the share price is now on its way up.The gold sctor may burst into life again as its getting to that time of the year,so the results are probably coming at the right time.If there are no surprises, then I think its likely the previous near term high will be broken quite easily. Further, there will be more visibility for a bidder, the only factor IMO which will reduce the discount to NAV. | ![]() corrientes
10/7/2004 13:51 | did anyone see that C4 series in 2001 about a guy who was investigating these conpiracy theories - made very interesting viewing - some so called rumours of meetings among world leaders and big business in weird places turned out true. Many of these meetings were unaccounted for in public domain. Makes you think.... | zaky
10/7/2004 12:48 | Editted. Decided the debate wasn't worth having. | ![]() goml
10/7/2004 11:46 | theberg, I had foolishly assumed that it was not possible for anyone to come near to the lofty heights of arrogance that biswell seems to manage without breaking stride. However, you have. As expected your response was cryptic, expecting readers to know what's on your mind. I realise that your post of 11:03 was a response to Corrientes but I have to take issue with you as it displays breathtaking arrogance. You seem to assume that you are the only person who can see what is 'really' going on in Iraq (or wherever!). You're NOT, many people feel the anger that you feel over (and I'm assuming here since you were not clear in your messages) the new american imperialism that is appearing in the world. Furthermore, a couple of points of clarification in the name of balance and truth. I quote you: 'Sitting in your safe European Home....' That sentence is a prime example of being 'economical with the truth'. It should more accurately have been written as 'Sitting in the relative safety of your European Home'. The spectre of global terrorism is here and I suspect that none of us are truly safe from it. You can debate till the cows come home whether it is just here as a result of american/western activities in the world but the fact remains that it is here and it is not morally defensible either. Finally, I quote: 'I am glad you reacted with anger, it showed you had woken up! The reality of war is not very pleasant is it?' Well, all I have to say to that is, who the hell made you the Headmaster of this forum? How completely arrogant, I don't need to see pictures of broken bones and shattered flesh to know that war is terrible and I most certainly don't need you lecturing me on the rights and wrongs of US/UK foreign policy. Personally, I already feel let down that Blair has turned out to be no more than the organ grinders monkey after I voted for him. If you are BB muppet re-invented then you have let yourself down. I suggest you re-re-invent. goml PS. I'm leaving you unfiltered long enough to give you the courtesy of me reading any response you may choose to make to my post. | ![]() goml |
