Suspension of listing
Avocet Mining Plc (the "Company") announces today that the complexity of the accounting treatments of certain events that have occurred in the year 2017 and in the first part of 2018 have raised technical questions that could not be resolved within four months of the year end. As a consequence, the Company is not yet able to publish its Annual Report and Financial Statements for the year ending 31 December 2017. Therefore it has requested that its shares on both the London Stock Exchange and the Oslo Børs be suspended with immediate effect.
Given the complexity of the accounting treatments in respect of the Company's restructuring in 2017, the first closing of Tri-K and the subsequent transactions in 2018, the audit of the Annual Report and Financial Statements of the Company is taking longer than expected.
The Company and its auditors are working together to finalise the audit as soon as possible. Once finalised, the Company will publish its Annual Report and Financial Statements for the year ending 31 December 2017 and will apply for the restoration of its listings immediately.
