Unfortunately for the little birdy here .... just when it has been shot down .... it looks like it is now going to get kicked in the nuts.

What you have to think about and look at are their production costs V the price of GOLD because soon the stuff might be cheaper than it costs to dig it up.

Then if that happens what will AVM do ? .... carry on and lose money ... how much cash have they got ?

Or mothball operations ..... which also costs money

This is the GOLD/Silver Index the XAU



It tells me that it looks likely it will say hello to 80 again , thats a 20% fall

GOLD would go to around $1050 .... SILVER also take a big hit

It might not do it in a straight line from here ..... depends upon Sachs and Morgan .... they are in control now ... they will play a couple of blindsiders to take folks money on the way .... welcome to the world of investing in precious metals.

I'm thinking about buying AVM. Happy to sit on them for 2 years...The only thing stopping me is wheather they will go bust? What are the possibilities of that? Useful comments appreciated.

Source BioScience has a 14p(12 month) rating on it today in Shares Magazine currently 9.75p

HH is a SHFT fan ... I'm not

Resource stocks especially in Africa and SA in particular are NOT the best place to be in my opinion

Profitable small cap Pharma Biotechs are ..... cos GOLD is going down as CASH flows out of it to stocks ... hence the markets hitting new highs


Once the market tops .... it drops .... defensive sectors rise ... time to rotate ?

Buy when there's blood on the streets.

There's loads of value in these beaten up gold stocks with a 3 year view.

Avocet are alleged to have had a number of suitors back in 2011/12 according to industry feedback. But the board (Chair) and not just the CEO greedily held out for a higher price back when the price was over £2. At the time the Wega deal was good on paper allowing the company to get rid of the clapped out high cost Malaysian assets and create a cleaner looking company ripe for take over. But now with costs continuing to rise, Macquarie tightening the screws on the debt and hedging book and a host of technical problems - no one is going to put the company out of its misery now.

Needs to put itself up for sale, gross mismanagement by previous CEOs, in hindsight would have been better to have remained in S/E Asia, any cost advantages lost, only people to have benefited from this cos demise is Macquarie, ex. management should be be put on trial for gross negligence as regards shareholder capital, the sooner this name is wiped out from history the better. More dilution down the road!

yes, often pays to do the opposite of what the analysts or experts say ! just trust the chartas that never lies and is a good indicator as to what comes next .

may be it is a silly comparison
but if we look the building construction market
eg: taylor wimpley
the share price in 2008 went down to 10p from 120p of 2007 due to the bank lending crise that made house price following done.
I wish I had bought taylor wimpley in 2008 at 10p because now is at 80p and is goin up every day.

gold market... not long time ago (few weeks ago) every invenstor company was saying to buy gold and now the same invenstor company are saying to sell.

I am not a finance expert.. but i don`t trust anymore this invenstor company that they are manipulating the market with their buy/sell advice as they want

AVM at c.15p is a STRONG BUY, imho.

In 3 years, or sooner (depending on world equity/debt default developments), AVM will be back north of 100p.

10m oz going for £30m? Bonkers.

Btw buywell, you're misplaced in your reading of the investment cycle for gold.

GOLD is now in the ...... BEAR TRAP ....... phase of the cycle!

Thus far I would say the recent fall in GOLD price has not affected AVM too much after it´s circa 90% drop


However if GOLD falls to $1,000 or chartwise $800 which is quite possible this year

Then AVM could see below 10p

GOLD now in the ...... FEAR ....... phase of the cycle
