As an aloof independent I guess SB has a point, ie that insurer's costs should be kept to the strict contractual minimum or else EVERYBODY'S premiums will rise to cover excessive costs...


...however OTOH if insurers offer the use of a replacement car as part of the benefits, then that is exactly what they should provide. If I were an insurer I would be more specific about detailing in the contract what I meant by replacement car, ie a small Mondeo or Astra etc should surely be enough to satisfy most people during the repair?

He doesn't like insurance and reapairers - fair point.

Neither did my brother until his wife smashed his car. Seems the hire car exercise was a blessing then.

We all need the cover - like it or not, however unpleasant to pay for !

Yes sunny thats spot on also AF will have insurance against this type of action.... I would invite holders to contact the company, dont take my word for it!!!

The North. Can you say why the admin makes no difference - is it because you think that the claims will be against the insurance co's who benefitted from the dodgy evidence rather than a payout from AF.

I think the absence of an RNS can be construed as "It will make no difference to our case", as otherwise they would surely have made an announcement...

I don't think I'd be punting here, they could drift along up and down a penny or so for easily another six or twelve months. But a few share sat in my ISA is no cause for concern, and if they come good will buy me a new set of wheels (I don't mean a new car...)
