ASSET MANAGEMENT INVESTMENT COMPANY plc (the "COMPAny")



PAYMENT OF SPECIAL DIVIDEND



As announced with the Company's unaudited interim statement on 12 June 2006, the
Board of Asset Management Investment Company PLC confirms that the special
dividend in respect of the year to 30 September 2006 of 2.0p per ordinary share
will be paid on 20 October 2006 subject to the approval of ordinary shareholders
to the special resolution to be proposed at the extraordinary general meeting of
the Company to be held in the morning of that day. The special dividend will be
paid to ordinary shareholders on the register on 29 September 2006 and have an
ex dividend date of 27 September 2006.
