A short while back I was worried about the state of things and rearranged my equity investments more defensively - but I kept all my ARM holdings. Clearly as China is such an important customer for ARM - based products they were going to suffer - and sure enough they are suffering. Other investments so far are softening the blow.
I bought them originally to pass on to children and they've certainly increased remarkably over ten years or so, a major 'real' correction ( rather than the AT daily profit-making manoeuvres ) was bound to come at some point, and this seems like one. So - hoping I've few more years ahead of me - I'll continue to hold, and maybe at some point buy more. Que sera, sera.

Yesterday ARM were buying their own stock at a Volume Weighted Average price of 930.8p (as they reported) so I am happy to re-purchase some ARM stock at below their VWA price.

ARM does not make any chips, they do this:

"The ARM business model involves the designing and licensing of IP rather than the manufacturing and selling of actual semiconductor chips. We license IP to a network of Partners, which includes the world's leading semiconductor and systems companies."

The IP is like software for how to implement a processor core in hardware such as a configurable device where the connections between the parts are programmed (welded if you like) into the chip.
