           ANNOUNCEMENT OF NEW CONTRACT WITH THE BOOKMAKERS AFTERNOON 
                    GREYHOUND SERVICE WORTH OVER #40 MILLION 

Arena Leisure Plc ("Arena") is delighted to announce that it has entered into a
new contract with the Bookmakers Afternoon Greyhound Service ("BAGS") to provide
live broadcast of racing from its racecourses into licensed betting offices, for
a five year period from 1 January 2005. The new agreement is worth in excess of
#40 million over the five year period. This is anticipated to increase the
annual income received by Arena from BAGS by a minimum of #1.5 million, an
increase of 24% over 2003 income levels.

Commenting on the announcement, Ian Penrose, Group Managing Director of Arena,
said: "This is an excellent deal for Arena. It allows us to plan for the
development of our business with certainty. The guaranteed income flow will
enable us to continue to invest in our racing and spectator facilities to
further the growth of Arena, and enhance our position as the UK's busiest
racecourse operator."
