Posted at 05/4/2023 09:08 by maddox Hi pck,It appears that these major banks aren't as quick on the uptake as you would imagine. However, this is typical, market disrupters take far longer to break through than logic would suggest. There is a natural inertia resisting change; often vested interests in the status quo; and a 'risk-averse business approach' - let others go first to prove the model. This is often referred to as a 'fast-follower strategy' but not particularly fast in my experience. The positive side of this is that it provides an opportunity for investors. We can see the model working and have time to leverage-up having taken an early stake. The last results presentation was excellent - there is certainly more than sufficient adoption to conclude that the model is working - with 3 new FIs and others increasing volume. The Technologies Division is really showing its worth in building renewable/recurring revenue. The transformation of the Aquis Stock Exchange (AQSE) is remarkable with 22 IPOs. So IMHO 2022 has been a pivotal year - in proving the AQX business model. |

Posted at 18/5/2021 07:01 by someuwin 18 May 2021Aquis Exchange PLC ("Aquis" or the "Company") Aquis Stock Exchange gains equivalence for dual quotations with the Frankfurt Stock Exchange Aquis Stock Exchange (AQSE), the primary and secondary trading business of exchange service group Aquis Exchange PLC, has been granted equivalence status by the Frankfurt Stock Exchange's Open Market. This means companies with a quotation on AQSE can seek a dual quotation on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange and vice versa. With its fully electronic Xetra market and its floor trading venue, the Frankfurt Stock Exchange is one of the largest exchanges in the world and continental Europe's largest. The Open Market in Frankfurt mainly trades foreign shares, bonds of German and foreign issuers, certificates and warrants in addition to German shares. Currently 44,366 international securities are tradable in the Open Market. For companies considering a dual listing for AQSE securities on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange, advantages include better access to the German-speaking financial community, which has Europe's largest retail investor community, and stocks become accessible to certain German funds that only allow investment in companies with a domestic listing. Dual listing is a simple process, which carries minor cost implications and, crucially, has no additional reporting or compliance requirements. The arrangement between AQSE and Frankfurt was effective from 3 May 2021. Commenting on the development, Aquis Exchange PLC CEO, Alasdair Haynes, said: "We are very pleased to have reached this agreement with our German counterparts to allow AQSE-quoted stocks to list in Frankfurt and thus gain simpler access to investors beyond the UK. In return, we look forward to having German stocks come to us to benefit from AQSE's unique liquidity pool, narrow spreads and institutional support base. The strategy at Aquis is to constantly innovate to improve our offering for the sake of issuers, investors, be they institutions or private individuals, and the economy overall." AQSE already has a dual listing arrangement with OTC of the US. |

Posted at 17/9/2020 11:55 by maddox Thanks Tomps - excellent presentation.AQX are a very exciting prospect and really like their focus on retail investors - best execution, shorting ban for growth firms and aspirations for higher liquidity for Small Caps with narrower spreads; as well as improved access to IPOs. An exchange that is better aligned with retail investors is just the competition that the hopeless, arrogant AIM market needs. I hope that all their plans quickly fall into place as I think they could hugely improve the environment for retail investors. Then as an investor their subscription pricing and best execution/liquidity advantage should lead to AQX capturing an increasing share of the market. Putting my money on their success. |
