Farmer Mac Declares Dividend on Preferred Stock 


WASHINGTON, Dec. 5  /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- The Board of Directors of the
Federal Agricultural Mortgage Corporation (Farmer Mac) has declared a quarterly
dividend on the Corporation's 6.40% Cumulative Preferred Stock, Series A.  The
dividend of $0.80 per share, which is for the period from October 1, 2003
through December 31, 2003, will be payable on December 31, 2003 to stockholders
of record as of December 20, 2003.

Farmer Mac is a stockholder-owned instrumentality of the United States chartered
by Congress to establish a secondary market for agricultural real estate and
rural housing mortgage loans, and to facilitate capital market funding for USDA
guaranteed farm program and rural development loans.  Farmer Mac's Class C and
Class A common stocks are listed on the New York Stock Exchange under the
symbols AGM and AGM.A, respectively.  Farmer Mac's Series A preferred stock, on
which the dividend announced in this release was declared, is not listed on any
