20/11/2009 11:12 | Power will provide Apella with a vehicle within which Apella can finance, operate, and develop its iron-vanadium-titani | tomesy27
21/9/2009 15:30 | Humph: master of a puddle (not the universe). Encarter: did you uncover anything interesting / useful in re to your 2.6M Albanian question? | jabberstocky
25/8/2009 16:42 | ;-) quiet here! | davethechef
10/8/2009 20:44 | As 8trade pointed out last month, there does appear to be a buyer in the background picking up stock..fantastic as we could see this one hit double figures imo.... | pre
10/8/2009 20:24 | looks nicely set for further rises here.... i did like the rns the other day:-) | pre
10/8/2009 13:10 | Some big day-traders moving in and out :-)) Who on earth would trade 5723 shares in under 2 hours or £230 worth ? | 8trade
10/8/2009 11:52 | I will this thing to go up and it does! QED. | humphbumph
10/8/2009 11:51 | I don't believe there are any other shareholders. The earth, the sun, the moon, the Universe and Apace are all figments of my imagination. How can you or I prove otherwise? | humphbumph
10/8/2009 11:25 | Can I make a deal with other shareholders? If I keep on buying to drive the share price upwards will you recompense me if it starts going down again, please? I can't afford to be so selfless for long! | humphbumph
10/8/2009 10:38 | I think I must be A Master of the Universe since I and my immediate family own more than 1% of this majestic company. I am too embarrassed to say in public how much I paid for that proportion but I think it warrants an invitation on to the Board, don't you? | humphbumph
10/8/2009 10:37 | More like it, i've held these since 05! Still need a good few more pence to hit ave! | davethechef
10/8/2009 10:08 | You've probably contributed most to the rise, the mm's have been short of stock each week and they still seem content to push it higher on small buys, all 4 mm's move up on that 45k buy ! | 8trade
10/8/2009 08:31 | With some shares I allow myself to behave completely irrationally. Apace, about which I now know virtually nothing, comes into that category. I confess to having bought 200,000 recently, to add to quite a significant amount bought at a much higher price. But I have a sneaking suspicion that these buys, tiny as they are in monetary terms, may have caused some hardening of the price! Does that therefore make me a Master of the Universe? | humphbumph
06/8/2009 08:13 | Well the mm's seem content to take it higher, they've absorbed every larger sale all the way up. If they can turnaround some of the poorly performing business's then indeed it could double, wont be overnight but seems to be going the right way chart wise. | 8trade
06/8/2009 08:02 | very interesting rns....expect this to be trading at double figures from here onwards.....another undervalued company imo.... | pre
28/7/2009 13:40 | That's why i was asking the questions to check my research was correct. There still seems to be a hidden buyer in this, all the sales have been mopped up and they had got a top price for them (2.9p) which is much higher than the price has been for a long time. | 8trade
27/7/2009 23:38 | I held these a few years ago and pop back from time to time when i hear anything interesting. You need to update your research regarding BMGL, it was merged with Nova Televizia which is a much larger company but Apace only own 5%. I hear the deal has been rubber stamped by the Bulgarians today and Apace will get about £1m cash back, so news should follow shortly. If they'd have been a little cheaper i would have picked up a few. Good luck. | encarter
24/7/2009 20:52 | humphbumph I'm just trying to get a grasp on the various business's and see if there is value here, unfortunately it would seem it's such a quiet stock there not many holders and posters here to tell me if i'm right or wrong hence i've kept my investment very small for now and maybe some non holders can cast a eye and give me their views. The plus points seem to be firstly their 50% stake in Balkan Media Group, i've had a look at the other 50% holder "Modern Times Group" based in Sweden and they seem to be a very large and successful company, this business reversed from £1.5 mil loss to a £1.2 mil profit in 2008, so APA's share made almost 600k, this business was valued in 2007 at 17 mil euro's, considering it's jumped from a large loss to a profit from 2007 to 2008 then you'd think the value has not dropped and no reason to drop or maybe a slight drop due to the economic climate ? Still think the value of their 50% stake in this alone dwarfs the whole company value but that would mean little if other parts of the business are bleeding too much. Pro-Active Projects also seems to be doing very and is profitable. Their main business has suffered not surpringly as this media and broadcasting sector was a bad place to be in last year and even maybe this year but it still made a small profit before exceptionals, their music divisions seems a no go and maybe wound down. And these 2 paragraphs were mentioned in their recent results. Current trading and future prospects The turbulence in international financial markets has had a major impact on all of our businesses and visibility for 2009 is poor. Having said that, the UK Television production businesses have had an encouraging start to the year and are performing better than internal targets. Apace Music is working within the restrictions of the Company Voluntary Arrangement while it reviews its business model going forward. In the past year directors have taken steps to stabilize the liquidity position of Apace Media plc with sensible cost reductions in production, a successful private placement, and the merger of our Bulgarian interests into a powerful multi-channel broadcaster and media house. Management continue to seek a stronger strategic position for the UK television businesses through a combination with other content owners. The music business remains uncertain and the directors are reviewing its future. I'm still very much a novice at accounts, i can see 3 mil in the total liabilities so i'm not sure if this is debt, they have recently raised one million pounds, i cannot see anything such as bank loans in the results. With cost cutting like all companies in this sector this looks a very interesting stock, i'm thinking of buying more but i'm still waiting for more feedback either from exisiting holders or somebody with a better knowledge of accounts, just checked the shares in issue and the market cap is just over 4 million at current price. 24/7/2009 15:17 | Thanks. You make sense! | humphbumph
24/7/2009 14:46 | humphbumph I'm guessing that maybe somebody wanting size has spotted that this maybe a undervaluation play. There was a lot of exceptionals in the last results, their content division turnover jumped 43% to 11.5 mil, it's a difficult sector but they do seem to have some profitable business's. It just looks like without the exceptionals the results would have been respectable and with that 50% stake in Balkan Media Group should be worth more than the current market cap given their stake made almost 600k profits last year with a bullish outlook. They have supportive directors and raised one million this year, most of the stock is tightly held. I think it's a sound play for under 3 mil market cap | 8trade
24/7/2009 14:30 | Please keep on talking, 8trade. I hold a lot of these but I don't have a clue what's going on here. | humphbumph
24/7/2009 12:50 | Has to be a large buy order in this. There has been one buy of 10k above 2.75p and that was at 3p. The mm(s) have took 300k in sales and paid 2.9p+ for them, now there's no way they would pay such a premium unless they have a matching trade at a higher price in the opposite direction, mm's dont give away money. Talking to myself here, but the online bid is still 2.88p for 150k and it remains just 10k offered at 3p. | 8trade
24/7/2009 09:11 | Very hard to get stock here, even had a 25k buy rejected simply because it was T10 and not T3. Online limits remain excellent, 2.25-2.75p monitor but 2.59p bid for 250k and all you can buy is 10k at 2.75p which i did but if i start buying in 10k's online the mm's will cancel the orders, it's a bit ridiculous imo, price might go a bit on any buying though. | 8trade
23/7/2009 23:35 | Picked up 25k at 2.75p late on, all the mm would let me have today. Spent ages looking at this stock this evening. The current valuation is 2.5 mil but they have some interesting business's which could easily be worth more. They still have 50% of Balkan Media Group which seems to be thriving the most, they sold the other 50% a couple of years back for 11.6 mil euro's so i wonder what value this business is worth now considering it's 50% share of the business made 588k last year and does not seem to be suffering from the recession, this side of the business alone could be worth easily more than the market cap. The rest of the business's are a mixed bag but this looks a interesting punt, hope some of the old regulars on here will notice my post and either dampen my enthusiasm or maybe agree. ? | 8trade |
