Yes, so far so good, but liable to remain volatile.

Having bought for the longer term in May at 7.79, if I were a tad younger I might be tempted to sell and bank a profit worth several years 'interest' had the same amount of cash been deposited with a bank. Any bank.

However I intend to hold this for 5 years at least.

Yes, a nice quiet thread. I bought in first thing this morning - copper futures
graph may have bottomed and some major world economies showing stronger growth.

The total dividend for the year is 95.0 cents per share. This represents a total amount of $937 million and a pay-out ratio of 142% of net earnings. That was great. But the new dividend policy is to payout a minimum of 35% of net earnings. By my calculation, assuming earnings remain the same and number of shares in issue remain the same, the minimum dividend for 2014 will be $230m or about one quarter of the 2013 dividend.

Anyone disagree? Anyone seen any analysts projections for net earnings or cash surplus in 2014 as that will be crucial?

Just had a first look.
The divi is certainly attractive but the pricing environment for copper looks like it will be either flat or deteriorate over the next year and clearly a big jump in their corporate tax rate means that the divi could be under pressure going forward.
I am still tempted but think I will wait and see if it holds the 750 line which has provided support in the past.

I've bought in today. However reading the last statement I do have a small concern on the unknown impact of the chile tax implications. Especially WHT. Any thoughts on how much impact this will have ?
