08/4/2008 07:51 | With how much is being traded, one wonder's on such tiny movements the impact of tips. Don't know whether anyone noticed, but once again it was tipped as a takeover play amongst other things in Shares Mag on the last thurs. Shares went down yesterday, but once again prinnytoo's article highlights more substance to the real potential. But until there is major news, this is destined to drift up on tips and down on frustrations etc i.m.o | zagrem
08/4/2008 07:25 | Data on AS1411 action in breast cancer cells published in Cancer Research Professor Fernandes said: "We continue to gain new insights into how AS1411 acts though nucleolin to induce the death of tumour cells.Ability to avoid apoptosis is a fundamental property of cancer cells, and so the discovery that AS1411 interferes with the Bcl-2 pathway that protects cancer cells from apoptosis is an exciting observation."Dr Ursula Ney, Antisoma's Chief Operating Officer, added: "These encouraging findings suggest that AS1411 could have potential in breast cancer, which is among the most common cancers worldwide."AS1411 is currently in a randomised phase II study in acute myeloid leukaemia, with further phase II studies planned in renal and other cancers | prinnytoo
04/4/2008 09:09 | Still moving up though :-) | davenic
02/4/2008 23:22 | Not sure on the back of what Dave, but i will have blue days anyday. Perhaps we may trace back to a reasonable valuation. But the way the market works dont hold your breath. | bluechef
02/4/2008 15:08 | Up we go at last | davenic
23/3/2008 20:37 | Very good news for both patients and drug companies. | sodium
22/3/2008 11:17 | News this morning about cancer drugs in earlyish stage testing being used as a last recourse for patients with no other hope of a cure. IE, no need for them to have gone through phases 1,2 or 3. Does that sound like good news for the likes of ASM and OXB?! I hold just ASM, as I've never been a fan of the Kingsman's. | rayrac
20/3/2008 22:18 | 2nd that scruff. | bluechef
20/3/2008 19:50 | Ray Market is never stupid. It just is. If you ain't in step with it then you (and me ) are stupid. Those who are in now and were in at 60p are stupid. The market is the game - not ASM, pharmas or owt else. It's about profit - nowt else matters. | scruff1
20/3/2008 11:23 | Whatever, for a company that is cash rich and with that situation likely to improve even further over 12 mth, the mind boggles at the market and at how stupid it looks to be selling here! Too many on margin (borrowed) can be put down as one cause? | rayrac
16/3/2008 11:49 | It's the Bear Stearns rollover we have to worry about | scruff1
16/3/2008 11:36 | Quite a few buy towards the end & also I think you will find most of what looked like large sells were infact rollovers... | davenic
16/3/2008 08:40 | No doubt it will be more painful tomorrow | scruff1
15/3/2008 14:56 | Agree with you scruff, this is getting painfull. | bluechef
14/3/2008 20:44 | Antisoma going to sub 20p. Why is it that this time last year we were full of anticipation about a deal with novartis and we were getting to 60p. The deal was done. Stage 3 trials are starting and we are near 20p with nearly all sells. Strange world the stock market | scruff1
11/3/2008 22:41 | 'the management were evasive over their acquisition intentions' I bet they were, just be shooting themselves in the foot as they say. How the heck can the board say where their intentions lie before they actually bid for a company? Industrial suicide? Pity though, if they have that much of our money, that they don't hand some of it out to the shareholders. If they have good products worth eventually £millions, why look for more? Develop what you have, sell everything lock stock including the company and hand the cash to their SH's? :) Can't see the point of this kind of company going on forever. | rayrac
07/3/2008 22:14 | Well I jumped in and out with perfect timing recently (wish it was always like that) but the reason that I'm out now is that I'm very uneasy about their acquisition plans/empire building aspirations. Dyor and I can't provide a link to this at mo but I think they got shareholder approval last year to issue about 30% of their shares for such purposes, and although that might make sense medium term a fundraising is unlikely to go down well with the market imo. (EDIT) I can imagine some of you jumping in to say that their cash pile is so big thay could make an acquisition without raising funds I'd say that a) it would probably be early pipeline stuff that the market puts little value on these days and b) that it would still imply a fundraising in the not-too-distant future, given their intentions to develop the 411 drug themselves. Acc to a poster over on the iii board the management were evasive over their acquisition intentions in the q and a after a recent presentation. | gnomet2
07/3/2008 07:10 | Ah champagne gone flat, maybe should have taken my profits when exceeded 20% plus. Such is the markets, it's gone a bit quiet. Scruff reckon you're right, the results were good, but what the share really needs is pipeline news. Still content to hold and see what happens, since results do show good base to share around these prices all i.m.v.h.o | zagrem
05/3/2008 19:25 | I keep saying it but why would it go up? What news has been forthcoming? Things in the pipeline - maybe? Where do you cash in pipedreams? | scruff1
05/3/2008 16:42 | OXB has bounced a bit today... See no reason why ASM shouldn't follow. They have correlated to some extent [edit] up till now:- 2 year view:- | dasv
05/3/2008 16:06 | i agree bluechef....i am surprised its down...best positioned biotech down though i do not hold any shares.....good result, cash pile...more to come and its down | quraishim
05/3/2008 12:50 | Is there something ive missed this week. Good results, good news, all of a suudden down we go again. | bluechef
27/2/2008 17:19 | Gordon bennet, I think you may be right davidbennett! Just catching its breath. | rayrac |
