Applied Graphics Technologies Announces New Chief Executive Officer 


NEW YORK, Dec. 3  /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Applied Graphics Technologies, Inc.
today announced the appointment of John R. Harris as Chief Executive Officer of
the Company and confirms his election to the Company's Board.  Mr. Harris will
report to the Board and will focus his energies on sales and marketing
initiatives to further the Company's future growth.  Additionally, Mr. Harris
will work closely with the Company's Chief Operating Officer, Joe Vecchiolla,
and the regional management teams to develop and implement a long-term strategic
plan for the Company.

Mr. Harris has served on the Board of Directors of AGT since 1996 and has
extensive experience in both sales and marketing as well as general management. 
From 1973 to 1999, Mr. Harris was with Electronic Data Systems and served in a
variety of senior leadership positions, including Corporate Vice President of
Marketing and Strategy and President of the EDS Communications Industry Group. 
He also brings extensive international business experience to AGT having spent
10 years in EDS's international operations.  Mr. Harris more recently served as
President and Chief Executive Officer of Delinea Corporation, a provider of
software and services to the utility marketplace.  Prior to that, Mr. Harris was
President, Chief Executive Officer and a director of Exolink Corporation, a
provider of retail transaction services to the deregulated energy industry.  Mr.
Harris also serves as a director of Genuity, Inc. and Ventiv Health, Inc.

Applied Graphics Technologies recently completed a recapitalization and
privatization of the Company by affiliates of funds managed by Kohlberg & Co.,
LLC in which the Company's outstanding debt was reduced from more than $240MM to
less than $70MM.
