Impala Platinum Holdings Ltd. (IMP.JO), the world's No. 2 producer of the metal, said Monday Chief Financial Officer Dawn Earp has resigned with immediate effect to pursue other interests.

The Johannesburg-based company said its executive for finance, Francois Naude, will act as CFO until a permanent appointment is made.

A spokesman for the company declined to add anything to the brief statement issued to the Johannesburg stock exchange. Dow Jones Newswires wasn't immediately able to contact Earp.

Earp joined Implats in March 2007, succeeding David Brown, who moved to the position of chief executive. She previously worked as vice president of financial accounting at Anglo American PLC (AAL.LN) and executive officer for finance at AngloGold Ashanti Ltd. (AU).

Anglo American-controlled Anglo Platinum Ltd. (AMS.JO) is the world's biggest producer of platinum.

At 1152 GMT, Implats shares were trading 0.6% lower at 234.90 rand against a similar decline in the wider market.
