Just read the ST tip in I/C .
Looks a reasonable punt to me especially after this mornings RNS.

And I liked his last few paras ..

Bearing this in mind, as more investors cotton onto the capital recycling, the debt reduction programme and the changing mix in the group’s income stream, they are likely to reassess Anexo’s risk profile in a more positive light. For instance, Zeus’s 2024 year-end net debt estimate of £56.6mn could be slashed to less than £50mn in the event of a successful settlement with Mercedes-Benz on behalf of its 12,000 claimants.

Cutting borrowings transfers more of the economic interest in the entity from debt to equity holders, a factor that is certainly not reflected in the huge share price discount to book value nor the price/earnings (PE) ratio of 4.4.
There is also the chance that 28.5 per cent shareholder DBay may attempt to buy out minority shareholders, as it has done recently by taking another investee company private, food manufacturer Finsbury Foods. Of course, it would need the support of the directors who own 35 per cent of the 118mn shares in issue, but that is entirely possible.

With all due respect...many people here are just totally failing to see the wood through the trees.

This stock is now a symptom if the VW settlement being the only driver of the share price...a real shame because the business is performing beautifully and its long-term prospects are fantastic. However...Mr Market and short-term investors always want the next short-term catalyst...forget long-term value creation and the fact we trade on silly low multiples with great growth prospects.

But anyway...in regards to the emissions cases...which everyone is obsessed about - what's even more astounding than the above short-term thinking is the way everyone is trying to claim VW is dead in the water / silence is a bad thing. Therium Capital Management settled the same case last year, the same cases have been settled around the world...and the silence tells us one thing - they are in an NDA period and in instances like this you will always get absolute silence when an agreement is being constructed. It is highly unlikely this won't be a success - might have to wait months from here, but it's written in the stars. And by the way, use your logical part of the brain - they pretty much tell you in the recent update VW has been a success. Why? Because why the hell would they commit to pursuing Mercedes now legally if they were not assured of the success of the model.

Everyone needs to look at this logically...the way the business is priced you'd think it was a terrible zero growth business about to go into 5 years of profit declines. Mad...people who load up now will be handsomely rewarded IMO. And you get a business whose prospects are asymmetrically related to wider economy/market...and one which is on the verge of giving news that the entire business model is going from good to 'unbelievable' with 8-10 car manufacturers to pursue over the next several years and the housing division balloons.

I've added a lot with spreadbets today on this interest the market is signalling. I'd hazard a guess an emissions settlement is coming over the horizon. We've had a month and a half of decent consolidation. Clearly on what investors know today there are no sellers at 100.

hxxps://www.gearrice.com/update/porsche-se-vws-main-investor-on-trial-after-a-lawsuit-by-its-shareholders-for-the-dieselgate/

"The Stuttgart Higher Regional Court ruled on Wednesday that the lawsuit in Porsche Automobil Holding’s hometown can continue. The justice plans to question the company’s former CEO, Wendelin Wiedeking, and former CFO, Holger Haerter, at a hearing on December 7. The ruling comes a day before Volkswagen is to include sports car maker Porsche in a $9.4 billion initial public offering..."

gusrezo, I think your comments have merit in explaining investors hesitancy over ANX. Arden (ex-NOMAD) put out a note this morning discussing this very issue.

They commented "The market hasn’t rewarded Anexo’s earnings growth because it hasn’t translated into cash. However, the paradox of the core business today is that it can only report higher profits by putting more vehicles on the road, but to grow, the group has to invest in working capital. The only way to turn FCF positive is to tune the business down a bit and run it flat. This is what Anexo has been doing, albeit there is a lag here. However, we think receivables has likely now peaked, with credit hire generating cash in H2 (and going forward)."

I have quoted some of their other comments here

The question for every investor is how does this do in a recession and I suspect the answer is OK. So I'm going to build a larger position here.

While there is of course potential to go lower if the market slides again, the prospects of this well-run company and savvy management (who do not just know their industry, but have a reassuring lack of bombast seen in some of their competitors) - let alone the VW case and those that may follow - makes current share price levels almost risible.

Investors (and private bidders) can only ignore solid cashflows and a strong market position for so long...

gusrezo - but the cash injection will alleviate any immediate cash flow concerns, and given it is an out of court settlement it will arrive in fairly rapid order. This allows investors to look through the working capital demands that much more comfortably.
